We'll be staying onsite for the first time ever this upcoming month, howeverrrrrrrr... we don't know what to do or how it works in the morning EMH. Heres the reason why:

Our family gets us into Disney (They are CM) but we usually meet them later in the day because one of them has to take her daughter to school that is a little far away. Because of that she won't be able to make it as early as EMH... we called Disney and explained our situation and they said all we had to do was show our Keys to the world cards and we'd get in and we don't need tickets... we really don't know whether or not to believe this so i had to ask my intelligent, informational DISERS.... how does morning EMH work in a case like this?:confused3

You WILL need park tickets, no question about that.

If your CM relative can't arrange to get you the park tickets beforehand in some manner, you can not enter the park for EMH (nor can you get FastPasses once inside, without a ticket.)

You were wise to doubt the info.
The misinformation given over the phone is legendary.

Many guests have their park tickets "put into" (combined with) their resort key-cards, so in THAT case, THEY only need the key-card to enter. But even THEN, they have to put the card into the gate and scan it (and their finger) to be allowed into a park (EMH or not.)

If YOU tried to do that (since you will NOT have your park tickets combined on the key-card) the gate would not admit you. No ticket, no admittance.

Hope you and your CM relative can find a way to get together prior to the AM EMH.
(Mail the tickets to you? Leave them at your resort desk for you?)

Have a great trip!!
