How does FP work with AP?

We've always used hopper passes but this is our first time with APs. How does the FP machine work with the AP? Am I to understand correctly that the APs are paper and not hard plastic?

Would we insert our room key instead? Just wondering . . .

The AP's are not the hard plastic like the hoppers, but they work just the same. You will do the same as in the past with the hoppers. You would only use your room key if it had the tickets encoded on it, which it will not with an AP.
