How does Extra Evening Magic Hours work? Do they make eveyone leave that doesn't have resort passes or do you get special colore bands if you are staying. My stay is July 15th through the 18th. When it says SUNDAY EMH are 12:00am to 3:00am and 8:00am to 9:00am does that mean on-site guest can stay late in the park Saturday night after midnight? tia

WDW no longer gives out wristbands for EMH's. You will need to have your KTTW card with you and show it at every attracion to be able to enter the line. Disney doesn't force people out of the park that are non resort guest but after a while they can't do much of anything and will leave on there own. They also have been known to do card checks at food, shopping, and bathroom locations to encource non KTTW card holders to leave.

Really? I had always heard you just weren't allowed on rides and attractions. But they were happy to let you shop and shuffle around the park.

That's what I thought as well. They let you stay in the park to spend money, but they don't let you on any rides. The only time they actually force guests to leave is for hard-ticket events as far as I know.

Not entirely true. It's the special hard ticketed parties that they prevent non-banded people from using bathrooms and buying stuff. For the EMH's it doesn't matter. You can stay in the park as long as you like if you aren't a resort guest. You can buy food, you can use the bathrooms. You just can't go on any attractions. You need to show your room key at the entrance to all attractions. No room key, you don't get in. I was behind one family in AK that didn't have room keys. It was about 15 mins after the park closed to the general public. They hopped into the line but when they got to the front of the line, the CM asked to see their room keys. They kept saying 'No, we don't have room keys but we must do this ride tonight...we leave tomorrow.' Well, the CM didn't much care. After 5 mins of arguing he asked me to show my room key so these people knew what he was talking about. He kept trying to explain that they needed to have a WDW resort room key in order to get on any attractions at this time..that the park was officially closed to non-resort guests and that they needed to leave the park.
As they walked away, unhappily, the dad said to the mom...'Well, it was worth a shot.'

While that still is the case to a certain extent, over the last year or so, they have been asking for resort ID for all kinds of things, albeit not consistently.

Just something to keep in mind: when they insist on KTTW cards for shows and attractions, each person needs to present one, including small children old enough to require a park ticket. While it may be the case for some of us that since our park tickets are on our room keys, not everyone purchases a package so those who attend EMH with hard tickets need to bear in mind that you can't just have one person take a room key with when you leave the resort. Everyone needs to present one at every show and attraction after official park closing time. :goodvibes
