How Does Early Morning Magic Affect 7DMT Rope Drop

so, the day we plan on going to MK, they have Early Morning Magic Fantasy land, which costs $376 for a family of four. Those who pay, get into fantasy land at 7:45. We were planning on rope dropping that day and going to 7DMT. My question, will there already be a line because of the Early Morning Magic?

We went to MK on a day of EMM, and most of the people who paid for this event had long gone, having their fill of Fantasyland attractions. They line up for other lands. You will still have a line for 7DMT, because that's where most other people head who didn't pay for EMM.

We did EMM this past May and were in line right before 9, there was a 20 min wait at that point so we were outside and could see the stampede of people coming for rope drop and it was really a spectacle. I have never seen a heard of people swarm like that. So, to directly answer your question, if you were at the head of the pack that day it’d be a 20 minute wait, if you’re towards the back of rope drop you’re in for a much longer wait.

We also did EMM last May. There was already a line of people with early BOG breakfast reservations waiting even before the herd that comes through for RD. They were held in a separate line while those of us with EMM bracelets were allowed to walk on ride up until 9 exactly. At that point, even the people at the front of the rope drop crowd would have been at least 30 minutes behind the large group gathered that rushed over after breakfast. If you weren't in the very front of the rope drop group, your wait could easily be an hour.

Adding: On days without EMM, early breakfasters are sometimes allowed to ride 7DMT before official park open. So while the EMM group isn't going to to cause any trouble to your RD plan, they're displacing the breakfast crowd, which WILL cause a bigger line.

Today (Thursday Jan 30) there was EMM. I had a pre park opening reservation. MK opened at 9 am. I lined up for 7DMT at 8:56 AM, was maybe 20th in the standby line. We essentially walked on once they officially opened.

So from what I can tell Early Morning Magic has no significant effect on rope drop.

The small crowd that does EMM doesn't really have much of an effect on the line for 7DMT at RD.
The large crowd coming into the park and all headed to 7DMT has a much larger impact unless you are at the front of that pack.
