How does breakfast work at Cheyenne

Yes you are right, she was referring to only breakfast.

Due to the fair few TR i have read over the past year or so people have stated they have taken a few nipples to keep little ones happy throughout the day/morning. so maybe not most but a fair few.
Which in my opinion i do not see anything wrong with that.

In all of the times i have been DLP i have never needed to take any extra, this will be my first trip with a two year old. I dont see any harm in taking a couple of rolls etc to keep little one happy while queuing etc........not a large amount to make up for lunch and dinner has you stated.
I dont want to go to DLP to nibble on breakfast goodies all day, where is the magic in that;)

I wasn't referring to your post.
I haven't got a problem with anyone with little one's taking a few bits, I've had kids myself and now how difficult it is to get them to eat at breakfast. I was just pointing out that for the poster to say "most people are doing it" referring to making up rolls for lunch is incorrect.

It's a debate that has come up many times on DIS, at the end of the day people will do what they feel comfortable with.
When I took croissants back to the hotel I'd already handed over my breakfast pass, had I been questioned by CM's then I could quite legitimately explained why I was taking them with a clear conscience. I'll also admit to taking the leftover rolls we've had to feed to the ducks on the lake, but they'd be going in the bin anyway.

i have to admit i have seen people taking loads and loads of rolls for lunch and putting them in their bags and i cringe every time. if you have come all the way to stay in dlp can you not afford lunch? also there are signs outside the breakfast area stating that food is to be eaten in the cafeteria and not to be taken away.

that said ash never eats her breakfast for me. none of us are morning eaters, so i just grab a glass of juice and forego my breakfast. however i do let ash take the two pain au chocalat she would have eaten anyway. im not taking extra, just the food she didnt eat. although if i was stopped i would gladly put it back.

I wouldnt want to take loads myself, i think it would be wasted anyway.

I wouldnt mind going to the supermarket, i couldnt find it last time? :confused3

My boy likes to feed the ducks, i wonder if the garage would sell cheap bread, last time i went the ducks were getting half my muffin....which are not very cheap.:)

Re taking food for later on, I believe the OP was referring to breakfast only. I don't agree "that most people are doing it" and I certainly wouldn't condone it.
It's breakfast that's included with the package, not breakfast, lunch & tea and worth remembering that we all end up paying extra to make up for abuse of the system.
Just my opinion. :)

Im with you on this one Jill. Occasionally DH has gone into breakfast alone and brought us a couple of croissants back to the room or we have taken one out to eat on route but I think making a packed lunch is wrong. Ive seen people do it all the time (making sandwiches with the ham and cheese) and object to the fact that I am paying for their lunch as well.

i know lol they have even cubed the cheese to make it harder but the lunch time roll gang are so resilient :lmao:

Well i will be making up a few rolls in September and November for DD for lunch, end of the day we don't eat breakfast at stupid o clock so i'll be taking what we don't eat and putting it away for lunch.

Trust me i will get that cheese cube in my roll :lmao:

Must say I agree with Jill and mommy2ash, spending a fortune on a DLRP trip but being too cheap to buy a couple of donuts in the parks is strange to me, too (and I'm sure nobody minds a 2-year old in a stroller with a pain au chocolat, that's not the point).
I must say, though, that it was fun to watch my BF with his mouth open (in awe) as he saw a couple of ppl on the next breakfast table working on their buns "factory style"...

But that was not what I wanted to say (got distracted by a phone call) - oh yes:
To the owner of this thread: If you're worried about the breakfast scrums, try to get park breakfast!!! (breakfasts in the park, that is) I don't know how long these continue during the season (maybe it's just peak times), but they're GREAT:thumbsup2. On our visit a couple of weeks ago, we did park breakfast 3 out of 4 mornings. Just ask when you check in at your hotel if park breakfast is available (it was offered to us upon checkin), and you can go back every day and ask at reception if they have any park breakfasts left for the then-next day. If available, you get card with time slot (9.00am to 9.45am). The park breakfasts are a lot less crowded, sometimes a nicer atmosphere (Plaza Gardens Restaurant instead of La Cantina @ Santa Fe), and... they are between 9am and 10am. So you can do EMH from, say, 8am to 9.30am, and then leisurely have breakfast. Afterwards: you are already in the park, so you are in the middle of the action. Also a bonus: because the breakfast is later (as opposed to a 7am slot at the hotel), you can skip lunch (or at least we did).

I hope this helps! Have a nice trip:)!

We usually make up a few rolls for later in the day, but then we eat a miniscule breakfast compared to lots we see, so I don't see the problem - it's like a doggy bag. The food will only get thrown away so I'd rather see people take it for later as wasted food is a travesty.

There's zero difference between eating a roll on the way back to your room or eating it 4 hours later - once the food leaves the hall it's all the same, no matter what spin you put on it ;)

Yes i agree with you dlpsteve:)

Once the food has been taken from the hall it makes no difference if its for breakfast or later on.
Other people could see this, not knowing if it was just going back for breakfast in a room, or having round the park throughout the day. Without knowing it could have encouraged others to take food themselves out of the hall. :)
