How does Aladdin Seating work?

We are going to try and see Aladdin before it closes and become Frozen. I have seen it before but not for a few years. How does the seating work. Last time we were ushered in by a CM and had a special viewing. But do you reserve your seats early or any way to do that? How early do we have to be there?

Unless it's changed in the last year or so, the time you arrive at the theatre will govern whether you sit on the main floor (early arriver) or the balcony (latecomer).

How early you need to be there will depend on how busy the park is. My family has always shown up about 30-45 minutes early and we have always been seated for the performance somewhere.

I don't know about reserved seating, but for general seating, when you arrive you can select which queue you want to enter (assuming it's busy enough that they're going to use all of them). Once they open the theater, it's open seating for each area. My family saw it at the end of September and we opted to wait in the orchestra queue. When they opened the theater we just followed everyone into the theater and selected whichever seats we wanted.

We caught the show in June. There's three levels to see the show. Floor, Mezzanine, and Balcony. The balcony is open only during the very busy seasons. Usually we show up 10-15 minutes before the show and the Floor waiting area is full. We enjoy the Mezzanine area, though. You can't get a good view of Al's parade coming in, but you get an amazing view of the flying carpet (when it's functioning).

We love Aladdian and have seen it on each visit from probably every seat in the theater. I really don't think there is a bad seat. Some don't like the balcony because of the flying carpet scene but honestly, it just gives a different view.

I agree if you show up about 30-45 minutes early you should be fine. We usually hang out by TOT for a bit and when the crowd starts forming we get in line.

My funny little side kick (and please no one be offended by my terms there just meant as descriptive).....so my husband and boys are what I would describe as "manly men", gotta look tough at all time, you know can't give the impression that they like to do girly stuff like plays etc. They always would claim that they just liked to see the show midday so they could take a rest.....yeah right, they are crying like babies that the play is going away and have already told me they want to see it twice while we are there in a couple of weeks. I always secretly catch them telling everyone how wonderful Aladdian is. I am so sad they are closing

We use the wait time for an Aladdin Show as a meal break. We will get something from a CS place and then get in line. We take a seat on the ground and enjoy our meal while we are in line waiting.

My group likes to sit right behind the divider wall of Orchestra and Mezzanine levels. It gives the kids a nice view when the little parade of the show happens.

Just get in line for whatever floor/area you want and then just sit down once you enter, because I much prefer to be doind something else than standing in line we arrive about 10 minutes before it start and have always gotten good seats - I dont think there is a bad one in the house!

If you have priority seating (VIP tour, etc) you'll enter first and have your choice of the orchestra, but they often recommend the front row. After that DAS enters, then they open the main queues. As for lining up they open the orchestra and mezzanine first then will usually only open balcony after orchestra fills up. Also be aware that your entire party needs to enter the line together and if you need to leave after entering be sure to grab a paper pass so they can let you back into the correct area

I agree with PP that there is really not a bad seat in the house. We showed up right as the show was starting one time and got a seat way back in the balcony and it was still a great show and view.
My favorite seat is first row of the mezzanine. I would says you need to show up 30 minutes prior to get the best seats.

Someone above said you might not like the balcony "because" of the flying carpet, but for us, sitting up there is why we even noticed it... they fly right in front of our faces, and it's awesome! People sitting down on the main floor didn't even see it since it's behind them and they didn't know to look up. When I go with the kiddos this time, we'll deliberately sit up there just for that reason. Best part is, you don't have to get in line early at all, since the balcony is the last section line to fill up.

The easiest way is just to ask a castmember at the entrance for the best tips as you get in line. You only need to get in line early if you want to be in the front areas on the main floor. The queues are separated by main floor, middle or balcony, and they'll point you to the right one based on your preference. The queues are wide and big, as the theatre holds a LOT of people, so even if the lines are long, you'll likely get in no problem, and there are shows throughout the day. If in doubt, swing by as you're passing before an earlier show and talk to the castmember then. They have great insight and info for everything!

Aside from announcing that they'll be using the FP system starting on the 10th, they really haven't said anything about how they'll implement it. I would keep an eye on this thread and this thread starting on the 10th when the first reports should be coming back.
