How does a 7pm ADR when the park closes at 7pm work?

Hi,
We have an ADR for 7pm on March 18th at the 50's Prime Time Cafe and according to the Park Hours DHS is scheduled to close at 7pm. How does that work? Will we be rushed?

You will not be rushed. Many people stay and eat after park closing, as they don't like to lose park time.

Also if you are using the buses, don't worry as they run well after closing.

Enjoy your vacation!!

You are better off than you think.

The buses will be packed at park closing but by the time you are done eating it will be an easy and relaxed trip back to your hotel.

We always try to have our dining reservations around park closing or before the parks open.

Plus its nice to see the park empty on your way out!

You will not be rushed.

There will be about eight Greeters assigned to the front gates, and their shift will be scheduled until 9:00. Around 8:00 six of them will be assigned, in pairs, to work on clearing the Park to make sure there are no stray Guests. Each team will get one or two sit down restaurants (usually one for HBD, one for Sci-Fi, and one for 50's and H&V). They will wait until the Podium staff at the restaurant says they are clear and will hang behind the last Guests as they are on the way to the gates.

One time recently I had to pick up overtime for the day as I went over my eight hours waiting for all the Guests to exit.

We did the same thing in February. It was great. Walking out through an empty DHS was beautiful. Plus the restaurant slowly emptied out so it felt very calm. No one rushed us at all. Buses run at least 2 hours after park closing so you'll have plenty of time.

We had a much different experience at 50's PT so I am sooo happy to see these posts.

In 2007 we went for a 7pm ressie on a night they closed at 7pm. We were sat in the very back room of the restraunt in a room with just 1 other family and they were finishing their meal and ready to pay their check and leave. Our table was close to the kitchen and the staff was cleaning around us, sweeping and mopping the floors, filling the salt and pepper shakers, and our service and food were HORRIBLE (like it was made and put under a heat lamp for a couple of hours). No one else was ever sat back in that room with us, and we didn't see our waiter except to order and then bring our food and then our check, no refills on drinks and none of the fun antics. We just felt like everyone was trying to get out of there and we felt very rushed. We were on the DP and ended up leaving without having desert because it was such a bad experience.

We have not been back to 50's since and my DH refuses to go back but I am going to show him these good comments and maybe I can persuade him to give it another try.

Thanks for the info. In all of our visits I had never had an ADR for park closing time.

Thanks to all that replied. I feel much better about this ADR now. We are actually staying at my condo over in ChampionsGate so buses are not an issue. Just wanted to make sure my mom and I would not be rushed. This will be her first visit to DHS.
