I'm a SAHM, so anything goes. I'm pretty sure my DD4 really wants a naked day, but I think we should actually get dressed everyday.

You and I have the same dress code! Anything goes! I'm a SAHM too! My son 2 wears a shirt and pull-ups sometimes when we want to just lounge around.

Is that like a suit everyday? I've never worked in a business formal environment before so I was just wondering.

The men wear suits and ties and the women wear outfits like suits (either with pants or skirts), tailored dresses, skirts with silk blouses, wool or linen pants with cashmere sweaters, things like that. Almost all of our visitors come dressed that way also.

Wow. Was it expensive to amass such a professional wardrobe?

It doesn't necessarily have to be with places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls around. You start with basics and keep adding on. And, you always hit stores like Bloomingdale's and Saks when they are having sales. It's worked out for me because I love clothes and love shopping!

That's very true. I love Marshalls!

I'm the definition of a uniform dresser. Black wide leg pants, black tank, and a black boyfriend cardigan daily. The store dress code is for black. I just find it easier to have 5 identical black outfits ready to go every Monday. :rotfl: Sad part is I'm the creative end of retail, I just punch it up with trendy accessories.

Aw, geez. I'm the only one in overalls/dirty clothes. Actually it's one pair of jeans dedicated to work, plus old shirts, sweatshirts or tops. Oh well, the 13 horses I take care of don't seem to care what I wear. And I'm not going to ruin my decent clothes cleaning stalls, grooming muddy horses, turning them out through the mud, etc.

You ain't the only one! Well...I don't actually wear overalls, but I do have a Carhartt suit I wear in winter (sometimes with jammies underneath). The horse don't care at all what I look like as long as I muck their stall and show up with hay.

When I'm teaching riding lessons or off to a show, it's always a clean tee-shirt, polo, or sweatshirt with clean jeans, half chaps and paddock boots. If I'm showing myself, it's my tall Ariats and breeches.

I work from home so casual, however if I am out meeting a client or doing business it is always a suit.

Working with young children everyday, it's always Jeans and a non-white shirt. In the summer it is capri's.

Business-extremely-formal.

What this means: suits every day, women wear closed-toed shoes ONLY, stockings are regularly worn in August, men do not remove their jackets, and this is 365 days per year. Do I hate it? On the contrary ... I love it. There's something very empowering and sexy to be dressed extremely professionally.

Ohhhhh, I've BTDT and I'll ask you again in 25 years! :lmao: Semi-joking, CD, I'm probably old enough to be your mama and went through the "dress for success" years in the corporate world. Even with "unwritten rules" as to NO pantsuits or anything other than muted colors.

At this point, I'm thrilled with business casual and Friday "dress-down" days for charity.

What do you do (if you don't mind my asking)?

Business casual (M-R) casual (F) which is cancelled if a VIP is in town.

I do find it highly interesting to read on this thread what passes in some companies for "business casual". Polos are definitely "not" considered business casual - that would be considered Friday casual in our office.

My office has a business casual dress code. I usually wear a pair of dress slacks, flats and a blouse. We can wear casual clothes on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays so I trade the dress slacks for a pair of jeans and everything else stays the same (though sneakers are allowed on those days). Would be fine except our office is not open to the public, so who are we dressing up for? I work for a city/county customer service call center that's open 24/7/365. I work the night shift that, up until recently, was able to wear casual every day. Boy was it fun going out to shop for dress clothes that nobody but five other people will ever see. :confused3

We wear jeans all week long, however our shop repairs coal mine equipment so we are dealing with lots of dirt/coal dust even in the office! We don't have much vendor/customer interaction so we are good;) If we are expecting customers or corporate visitors...we wear khakis:thumbsup2~Oh and I LOVE my job:goodvibes

Business casual M-Th, but on Fridays we can wear jeans with school colors or school mascot t-shirt. It also depends on what grades I am subbing in...
