How do you tour MNSSHP?

I was wondering if any brave soul has ever attempted to stay the whole day at MK as well as attend MNSSHP until midnight. I'm an active adult and will have my almost 14 year old very active daughter with me, who is a total Disney buff, like me. We hope to get there around opening time and make a day & night of it. Are we crazy? :rolleyes1

We did it at our first MVMCP in 12/04. My two boys napped in the stroller and we ate two TS meals that day. It was fun and worked out fine, but I won't repeat it again because I think we were just lucky there were no meltdowns! We slept in the next day.

I think you will be fine. Have a great time

Thanks for all the great tips, everyone! I was wondering...how are crowds in the MK between 4 and 6 on MNSSHP nights? Are there a lot of "day" folks still there trying to get in the last few rides before the park closes or is it already starting to clear out by the time the "party people" arrive? Thanks again. :)

We had a plan last year and it worked wonderfully but we still felt as though we missed alot...but we knew without the plan we would have missed alot more! In fact this year we are going back twice...

one day we have planned to do all the dance parties, villian meet and greet, character meets and trick or treat stations & of course the parade and the fireworks...

The other is filled with our favorite rides (and the parade and fireworks again because they are AWESOME)

The unfortunate part is that many of the activities are planned to run concurrently (for obvious reasons like keeping crowd levels down and distributed evenly throughout the park)...pick your favorite land or lands and map out your activities around them -- for example they have a treat trail in adventureland and tomorrowland, a dance party in tomorrowland and ariel's grotto...so choose but avoid criss crossing the park and wasting time...because it will FLY by...be sure to throw in your favorite rides b/c they are walk on you will have little or no wait!!

good luck!

O.K. you have just about talked me into 2 parties. It's been on the back of my mind for sometime now. I guess I'll just have to add another day to our vacation. Oh darn! :p :woohoo:

The plan that Tour Guide Mike has on his website seems like a very good, well thought-out plan. Logically, it seems to make sense. I'll have to try it out this year to be sure though. :goodvibes

Skip the regular attractions, except the Haunted Mansion. Do all the special events. the parade is great. The fireworks are fabulous. Trick and treating - I suggest doing it toward the end of the evening. That is when the CMs give it out by huge handfuls, and the lines are shorter. By then the kids might get tired, even fall asleep; so use your own judgment on the trick or treating.

You will get a map showing everything.

My advice, take a nap before you go.

Does anybody think it would be okay for adults to show up late, to avoid some of the crowds?
We're not really interested in the rides or the characters (other than the villians!), just the parade, the fireworks and the CANDY!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not evening going to think about this anymore until someone posts after the first party in September! We've got our ADR's at LTT for 5:20... that's as much thought as I'm giving it for now! (Well, I'm batting around ideas for costumes. ;) )

I'm right there with ya! I've been thinking about it...There are 3 parties while we're there ......I still haven't decided......

Eljay - there are a lot of adults there without kids but I wouldn't recommend showing up late unless you have other plans. The crowds really aren't that crazy, at least for us. Nothing like a normal day at the park - it only seems so because there is no one in ride lines - they are out candy hunting early. I would go and just walk around and enjoy the whole park, go see the Castle Villian show, watch the fireworks, watch the 2nd parade and then go candy hunting. Even if you aren't interested in rides, there are usually no waits so you might as well. You have to go on the HM though - midnight was fun :cool1:

Don't you have to pay to see that plan?

$18 subscription to TGM. Lots of good info, sample park tours, etc. Well worth it, IMO. :thumbsup2

We always start our MNSSHP with the HM ,it sets the mood for us! :hmghost:

We've been going to MNSSHP since 1995,so we just go with the flow! We like to catch the things that are special to the party like the parade, the fireworks,a ride on the Liberty Belle. We also like to look for characters you don't see that often. We do some Trick or Treating but won't stand in a long line for that.

We usually end our night riding Buzz Lightyear...we've been able ride three times in a row without getting off in the past.

We are going with my MIL, SIL, and her two kids. They are not going to have passes to the park that day, only their tickets for MNSSHP. What is the earliest they will be let in?

Thanks

Wow that sure was detailed, I took my family last year on 10/30. My daughters were 4 and 7 at the time. We got to the park at 4 but the staff at the gate didn't give us any special maps, and I had to tell them the strollers were free for guest attending the Halloween party. I don't recall any of the parks being closed. Maybe I was just distracted. We viewed the first parade from Liberty Square and then went in front of the castle for the fireworks. Your plan included a lot more activities. We will be back this year on 10/23, maybe I can make use of your plan.
