How do you sweeten your coffee??

See the link I posted. I used splenda for many years too, but I actually stopped using it before I was diagnosed as diabetic.
Sugar alcohols are the thing that bothers my gut. Never had a problem with sucralose.
I don't use an excessive amount....just in my tea and on my oatmeal.

Only artificial sweetener that I ever had issues with was Stevia.

I drink my coffee with only some form of milk or typically half & half. It adds a little sweetness without sugar. I personally can’t drink it black, but I don’t want to consume too much sugar so I try to limit my sugar intake to fruit and an occasional really good dessert.

OP here:

The recent article about erythritol is what has me thinking of finding a more natural way to add some sweetness.

Thank you for the many tips! I may start by reducing my sweetness level a little bit at a time.

Like someone mentioned above, I only add a little bit of almond milk. No sweeteners. When it comes to tea (hot or iced), I don't put anything in it.

I am a huge fan of cold brew with a splash of almond milk, especially when the coffee is from a local company here. I really need to start making my own and stop spending so much money at the coffee shops that use this company's products.

Mostly sugar free flavored creamers, sometimes a little splash of sugar free flavored syrups.

I stopped using any sugar in my coffee years ago. Have used Splenda, white sugar, and sugar in the raw. I ditched those and was able to drink coffee with just half and half. I would be fine with any type of cream. However, I also decided to ditch dairy too due to some health issues so I needed to find something to use. I now use nut pods. I love them. They are only something like 10 calories for a tablespoon and are compatible with most diets, keto, vegan, paleo etc.

I have NEVER been able to drink my coffee with nothing added to lighten it a little. I decided to give up all additions to my coffee for lent this year, (along with all processed sugar) I have been drinking my coffee black. The first day I did it, I thought no way I can keep this up. I have been keeping it up and it’s not as bad as I thought. I think I’ll go back to my nut pods after but glad I learned I can drink it black once in awhile. There have been times I go out and get coffee and don’t like their non dairy milk options. I tend to like darker coffee black, while preferring more medium roast with creamer

In my coffee:
Occasionally black.
Usually either milk, cream, half & half, oat milk or almond milk.
If I want it sweeter, I add a little Hersheys chocolate syrup.
Around Christmas, I sometimes add a Hershey kiss & stir with a candy cane.

In my tea:
Sometimes nothing at all.
Usually a slice of lemon & a little honey.

I too like the idea of cutting back on sugar.

Good luck & enjoy your coffee!

I never put anything in my coffee, I just drink it "as is". That said, I really like the "flavored" coffees like French Vanilla, Cinnabon, Mocah, Caramel, Hazelnut (and holiday stuff like Pumpkin Spice, Gingerbread) etc... The flavored ones as far as I know still don't add calories or anything.

IF (and that’s a big if) I drink coffee it’s from Dunkin, Folgers or whatever the diner I frequent has if I’m in the mood. And it must be ICED.

I put a teaspoon of sugar in (unless it’s dunking I use the liquid sugar but I always go less than what the app suggests for the size I get. I just like that it’s in the coffee and not at the bottom).

And then as I have said to many “I use enough milk that the cow who made the milk has to go out of commission”

Side note: I really need Dunkin to get in the same page with their milk options. I can go until I can’t go no more for cream, whole milk and skim milk, but any other milk like oat? I’d rather get it black with the sugar and put my own in at home
