Ooops. Picked the wrong one. Only one "e".

I always using to spell it with an 'e' but I found out the US version is without it so I spell it judgment now. It doesn't look right to me though.

I always want to spell it with an E, but I think spell check gets mad at you for that. Let's see, judgement. Nope, this spell check thinks it's ok, must be on word.

"Judgment" is generally considered proper American English usage. Regardless of which spelling is technically correct, never forget the cardinal rule of writing: make the boss happy. If the teacher and the textbook ask for "judgment," your daughter should be marked off for spelling the word with an "e."

I don't agree with that completely. I do agree that if you are writing for your boss, you should spell the word the way she/he prefers always. I do not agree that it should be that way for students in school. That is teaching them to follow without thinking on their own. A student should always have the right to question a teacher and a text book, if he/she has a valid reason for questioning them. A word with two spellings is a valid reason. I wouldn't exactly run down and stir up a fuss and demand the teacher give my child the points, as a parent I would not get involved at all nor would I give it a second thought; but I would hope that my child would bring the subject up to the teacher so that the conversation would at least be opened to the class. Again, not expecting the points back but opening communication up to discuss that there are two ways to spell the word and both are correct and why there are two ways to spell the word.

I see court documents a lot so I spell it the way the courts do, without an 'e'.
