OK, I'm confused? :confused3

Never-mind, I scrolled right past the poll. Couldn't figure out what word you wanted spelled.

The British spell it with the "E". In the US, without the "E".

Actually both are correct....

I only knew it spelled with 2 E's & then dd's teach said it could be spelled both ways but she wants them to spell it with one e

according to Webster's online it can be spelled either way

So I was just curious how most people spell it...

Between my work computer, home computer and wife's computer, on each of which there are numerous different word-drafting and/or e-mail programs installed, some having U.S. language profiles and others have Canadian language profiles...

... not to mention typing things on websites and blogs online ...

... I honestly don't know how I spell half my words anymore. And I type very, very fast.

It's all I can do just to keep the Internet anagrams at bay. Can't stand those.

I always thought it was one "e" only. I had no idea there was an alternate spelling.

I know both are correct, but I prefer "judgement". It just looks funny to me the other way. "Judgement" flows, "judgment" is like jud-guh-ment. To me, anyway.

When I see "judgment" I know that it is technically correct. I just don't like it.

Both are correct and in professional work I don't use the extra "e" but on my own I do because I think it looks better.

You don't go to court to see a Judg, you see a Judge. You don't get Judgd, you get Judged. So why does a Judge somehow pass Judgment?

"Here come de judg! Here come de judg! Here come de judg!" It just doesn't work.

I say it should have the extra "e".

I agree.

As an attorney, I type that word A LOT. It's "judgment", not "judgement.

In fact, the latter will come up incorrect on Microsoft Word. It may not look right, but it is correct. Consider it one of those quirks of the English language.

Interesting. I can't think of the last time I needed to spell it, but I picked the top choice in the poll: Judgement. And I'm in the US.

Although my spell checker thinks it should be Judgment.

Now this is a good example of postmodern spelling. It's not a matter of what is "correct", but what we "like". Onward to math, I say!

"Judgement" is correct. There are two correct spellings.

Excuse the crap out of me for picking the one I like better.

Since when? :confused3

Not picking on you, but this is a good example of how nowadays we get to pick which spelling is "correct". There is no right or wrong, just personal preference.
