How do you say YUM in Canadian? 7 Days on DxDP w/ pix! *COMPLETED 3/21*

Brittany ordered the taco salad. For dessert, she picked the (very large) chocolate-chip cookie.

Now this was just OKAY (I didn't try this, but I remember Brittany's comments). The shell was good and she liked that. She loves salsa so she loved that they put a lot on per her request. It also had lettuce, chicken, olives, and sour cream (this is what I see in the pic and remember, there might be other stuff too). She didn't like that it had barely any lettuce on it. Because the bottom of the "shell" wasn't filled with enough lettuce, her extra salsa made the bottom very "soupy" and therefore soggy at the bottom. Not the best, but this didn't make it inedible. It just made it OKAY
I had this with beef when we were there, and trust me - chicken has to be the way to go! The beef was very greasy! The bottom of my shell was orange and soggy. :scared:

I think I'm going to try the chicken this trip, but I'm going to ask for EXTRA lettuce!!! :thumbsup2

We ate at Le Cellier last month, at along with Japan's Teppan Edo, this was out most favorite place to eat! How to yum in Canadien? "Yumm-eh!"

Too bad you didn't try to cheddar soup. We're going back to visit the World in July and believe me I can't wait to have to soup. We opted for the regular dining plan (had deluxe last time) you don't get appetizers, and let me tell you, that soup I'm paying for because I've been craving it! My dd had the three onion soup and she is a very picky eater and she says that was the best soup she ever had. My husband had the steak sandwich, which he loved and dd had the burger with the onion ketchup. It was the best burger we have ever eaten. I had the Mushroom Risottso steak, though the risotto was a little undercooked (I had visions of Gordon Ramsey yelling, SEND IT BACK!) it was still great and I'm ordering it again in July. This meal, we had 11:40AM reservations, kept up full for the entire day. We couldn't even eat a snack, we were so stuffed.

My dh had the smore, which my dd finished for him, plus she had the creme brulee, she has become a creme brulee nut since she had it at Jiko. I had the chocolate "moose" which was mousse with little moose antler cookies placed so it looked like a moose on your plate.

This restaurant in my opinion is the best one in Epcot. I can't wait to go back!

Too bad you didn't try to cheddar soup.

I don't eat bacon so it wasn't an option. A woman at a table sitting next to us, after eating a bowl, tells the waiter: "My only complaint is that it doesn't come in tub-size!"

Brittany wasn't sure if she would like it (She said she only likes her cheddar cheese if it's super mild, not sharp). But yes, I know people LOVE that soup!

OMG. I fell in love with that tomato stack too...it was by far one of the best things I had on our enture dining trip. And kudos to you for not ordering what everyone else does! It is goog to see that there are other things on the menu besides steak. I love all of your reviews!

Yummy reviews and pics (while I eat some bleh Lean cuisine :rotfl2: )! The sassogoula (sp???) dinner looks like taco bell except you said the chicken was big pieces and the bell gives tiny minced meat pieces :rotfl:
Its nice to see some different pics from Le Cellier since its always the same steak soup bread pics so thanks for ordering something different!!:thumbsup2

DSCF0372.jpg

She refused to try the garlic spread in the middle.

Oh, too bad. Roasted garlic is delicious and mild. If she likes garlic bread, she'd like this ten times better.

This is how far I've read so far and am enjoying your report tremendously! Thanks!

I must read on to find out where your bread basket is from...I'm hanging onto the edge of my seat here. Seriously, I wish I were kidding! :rotfl:

Ahh, I knew your favorite bread would be at Le Cellier! But no cheese soup for either of you? Is that even allowed?

Okay, you've still got me hooked though because I want to see the rest of your snacks!

Great job with this report!

I suppose yes it's like Taco Bell, but I would say a lot better. I mean, quesadillas at Taco bell are filled with nacho cheese sauce (read: fake cheese) and these are not. And yes, BIG pieces of chicken. It was a good, late night dinner.

Oh yeah, favorite bread basket!!! And I know about the cheese soup. I don't mind never getting it, because I will not and do not eat bacon. Brittany wished she had tried it after she heard the table next to us going on-and-on about it. There's always next time, I say!

I will do a post with the rest of all my snacks soon, and I will list what all 28 of our snacks were (many were drinks so we didn't take pix, but we did take pix of our World Showcase snacks, which are fun!) Bare with me, I will post when I have time to devote to a full post.

I love garlic, so I would have tried it if it was my app. I remember we were both not hungry by this meal (lunch at Brown Derby did us in), so I wasn't interested in the breads.

And that is too funny about the bread basket. I didn't even remember I left y'all hanging about my favorite bread basket! But yes, Le Cellier's was so fun and yummy! I wish I was having dinner there right now!

Again, thanks everyone for keeping with me and checking out my report. I am so glad you guys are enjoying it!

You're right, Le Cellier is beyond wonderful - we had such a great experience there.

Still here and still loving your reviews :)

Loving your reviews. You girls know how to have fun!!!

Thank you for taking the time to share all your sipping, snacking and dining experiences!

I'm in until the end... :goodvibes

I love your reviews! the chicken sandwich and fries at Le Cellier look so yummy! :)

After a wonderful lunch at Le Cellier, we wondered around the World Showcase for the rest of the day (including doing some Kim Possible for the first time). We had 6:00pm reservations for Chefs de France. We showed up about 15 minutes before our ressie, and we were seated immediately.

For the record, here's my review of my bad service...

Our waitress Maud was perfectly nice and sweet, but over the course of our meal, things started getting hectic. Before I get into the food, let me just say we were here for 2 hours (I HATE when I'm trapped at a restaurant, because we can't find any staff anywhere). Seriously, after our apps, it would be 20 minutes between visits from Maud. She never refilled anything, even when we asked. She came over between entree and dessert and told us that the "systems were running slow." I understand that for ringing up bills, but that doesn't explain the lack of refills and checking back up with us. There was also a moment where her manager came over, and he was visibly upset with her. I've worked food service, so I feel sympathy for those having bad nights. In fact, it bothered me more when the manager came over to ask the family sitting directly next to us if everything was okay and he asked the large table behind them. He never asked us if we needed anything. Once she came back to clear our entrees, we ordered our dessert and asked for the bill all at once. That seemed to speed it up toward the end.

Was this our worst service this time around at Disney? Yes, by a mile. (We had a mix-up at Tusker House, but that didn't upset me. I'll elaborate later). I basically had bad service because Maud was so slow and it took away time I could be walking around the World Showcase. I had no desire to be here for two hours.

Moving on to the food...

Maud brought us out our rolls first. I think it's cute that they take them out of the basket and put them on a plate. These are hot and have a nice crusty outside (If you like your rolls completely soft, these might not be your fave).

For apps, Brittany ordered the Lobster bisque. Allears.net: Bisque de Homard - Lobster bisque.

DSCF0521.jpg

Brittany LOVED this. She said it was one of the best lobster bisques she's ever had (and apparently she orders it a lot). This isn't my thing so I didn't try it.

I ordered the house salad. Allears.net:Salade maison - selected greens, house vinaigrette dressing.

DSCF0522.jpg

I wasn't too hungry for this meal, so salad was perfect for an app. The vinaigrette is on the side, which I did dress the salad after I took this. This was a nice salad, love tomato and onion so I just gobbled this up.

For an entree, Brittany ordered the one and only beef dish of our whole meal! Are you excited?? Allears.net: Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre noir Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with a black pepper sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans.

DSCF0524.jpg

She ordered this well done, so it looks as such. She also really liked this (I don't eat beef, so I didn't try this either.) I tried the beans and potatoes and they were YUMMY. I seriously kept eating her side dishes, because I liked them so much (she didn't mind). She said the beef had a nice flavor, and she was glad she ordered it.

What did I order? The MAC AND CHEESE! Allears.net: Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese.

DSCF0525.jpg

Okay seriously, this was right up my alley. And this is not your run-on-the-mill baked macaroni. First, the flavor of the cheese was strong, which made me love this dish even more. Usually people have salt a dish like this, but this had a wonderful flavor in and of itself. The best bites were the ones that included a little bit of the baked cheese crust. Brittany loved this too. I saw this on the DIS a lot, and I am so glad I ordered it. However, this is rich and I wasn't able to finish all of it.

For dessert, Brittany ordered (smartly) the creme brulee. Allears.net: Creme Brulee - Vanilla creme brulee served with a Madeleine.

DSCF0526.jpg

Though Brittany thought the Madeleine (that cookie thing) was gross, she loved this creme brulee. (I also tried it, it had a wonderful texture and flavor. I liked that it was vanilla. In fact, Brittany called up her dad just to tell him how good this creme brulee was!

I ordered the Profiterolles. I think this is what it is on Allears.net (The desserts were slightly different than what's online): Orifuteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

DSCF0527.jpg

Hmm... how do I review this? Let me say this, I didn't hate this, but I didn't LOVE it. It was sort of like, if this were the real world, I would have passed. It's my philosophy that if you don't LOVE a dessert and you only sort of like it, let it go. You don't need the calories. But in Disney, all bets are off, and I can eat desserts even if they're just okay. (Everyone knows calories in Disney don't count! ) Basically these are puff pastries, cut in half, filled with ice cream, and drenched in chocolate sauce. My only complaint was that I didn't care for the cold puffed pastry. It was tough to cut them and chew, and they just didn't have a good flavor. So basically this dessert boiled down to ice cream with chocolate sauce. I also don't really like things like cream puffs (because of the "puff" part), so I certainly didn't like it cold.

Because the receipt's right here, the meal cost us $91.81 before tip.

Overall, this was a yummy meal. Yes, the service was bad. However, I would DEFINITELY come back here. I was here in 2001, and it was a favorite for my family then too.

Coming up next... Snacks Part 2

We love Chefs too! We also had a terribly slow waiter, never refilled drinks...DH had to get up and find him for a refill! Same thing with the check!

Maybe next time we go it will be better service!

Here are the rest of the pictures we took of our snacks. After the pictures, if you're curious, I've listed how all 28 of our snack credits were used.

The top half of two Izakadoozies. We got these at the cart in Frontierland, right next the bridge that leads to Splash Mountain.

Churro from Animal Kingdom.
DSCF0599.jpg

Brittany and I got the popcorn and churro right before the parade that day. We got these at a cart called Harambe Popcorn.

Here are two treats we got from the France Bakery. Left: Napoleon. Right: Lemon Tart.
DSCF0477.jpg

We got these, because we wanted to try pastries in France using our snack credits. Just an FYI: none of the items on the menu in here have a Snack icon (purple icon). However, all the items under $4 are available for snack credits. The lemon tart was SO good, because it was perfectly tart, which I love. I don't remember trying the Napoleon so I don't know how it was. We took bites of these and threw them away, because we honestly weren't hungry.

School Bread at the Norway Bakery:
DSCF0530.jpg

Okay, so we got this right before Illuminations. We were SO FULL from Chefs de France, so we just got this to try a bite. This is SO WONDERFULLY GOOD. Brittany was trying so hard to eat it all, because it was so good. I took about three bites, but I wanted to eat the whole thing. I will definitely get this again. Like everyone says on the DIS, school bread is awesome. I don't even like coconut, but the coconut flavor is not the heart of this. It's the wonderful cream, icing, and the bread to bring it all together. YUM!

Here's four snacks we used at the gift shop at POFQ. It's 2 Minnie's Bake Shpp cookies (LOVE these) and two small size lollipops. In the gift shop, there is a shelf of food that has the Snack icon above it.

DSCF0418.jpg

Now that's all for the pics I took of snacks. There was one picture we "missed." At the Fountain view in Epcot, we got double scoop ice cream in a bowl.

So for all you peeps who want some snack options, here are all 28 of our snacks used.

The last 7 snacks were bought the day we left on Saturday. I was VERY sick at this point and just told Brittany to go spend them. She got breakfast with the Cinnamon roll and Dasani. Then she bought all the stuff from the Gift Shop to take home.

And there you have it!

Coming up... Breakfast at Sassagoula and Lunch at Pizzafari

Here's another breakfast at Sassagoula. In case you were wondering, we liked eating quickly at our resort then heading over to a park. It's not that I don't like other breakfast locations, this just worked for our park style.

I will say that we had a plan to go to Captain Cook's one morning to ride the monorail and to try something new. But we ended up wanting to sleep in!

This morning (this is Thursday of our trip), Brittany ordered a Western Omelette, with OJ and a chocolate milk. I remember her telling me this has: green peppers, onions, ham, and cheese. These are made fresh to order, and they give you a buzzer to come back when it's ready. She also got the potato wedges as a side.

DSCF0540.jpg

This was a stand-out for Brittany. She liked the omelette option, and she ate the whole thing.

I got the French Toast platter with sausage. I got an OJ and an apple juice.

DSCF0539.jpg

Like I said before, the french toast isn't anything to write home about. But I like the sausage. It was a nice change from Mickey waffles to get the toast, and two slices was a good portion. I dipped pieces in syrup and was a happy a camper!

After an awesome morning at AK (Finding Nemo the musical, WOW!), we realized we were hungry, and we were close to Pizzafari.

DSCF0562.jpg

We each got a pizza combo meal. Brittany got the cheese pizza and a frozen lemonade for dessert. I got the pepperoni pizza with the frozen lemonade for dessert. We both polished off these pizzas. They're not amazing pizzas (the sauce tastes a little cheap IMO, like tomato PASTE instead of tomato sauce), but they're definitely make a good lunch.

DSCF0563.jpg

We loved these desserts, because we were able to bring them over to Flights of Wonder and enjoy them long after the meal. They make a great snack. In case you're wondering, we had no interest in Flame Tree BBQ (neither of us are big BBQ rib girls), but we would have tried Yak and Yeti QS (despite the badish reviews on here) if we were nearby.

Coming up next... Tusker House (dinner)
