Just wondering how to pronounce this. We're staying at POFQ and I want to try these. Don't want to be embarrased!!!

Umm...I'm from around the NOLA area and we've always pronounced them "Benyay".

"ben-yays" is how we usually pronounce it. I'm on the Gulf Coast in Alabama and we frequently visit the NOLA area and that's how I've always heard the locals there say it too.

another S. Louisiana girl here and it's been-yah or yay!

Hope they have some cafe au lait to go with those beignets :goodvibes

Thanks everybody! I can't wait to try my "ben yays"... maybe after our dinner at La Cell-yay!

We should just call this the cajun thread :lmao:

It's "been yah"

They are yummy yummy ~ kind of like small funnel cakes dusted with powdered sugar! High calories but soooo GOOD!

I can only eat a little bit before I am too sugar overloaded. I may eat one off the kids' plate. That's about all I can handle. That's how sweet they are. But they are goooooood! Way better than funnelcakes from the fair.

I've always said ben-yet, guess I was wrong.

The T is silent

Here is a good cajun word for ya (ok you cajuns hush and lets see how they do with this word he he)

Tchoupitoulas :rotfl2: I love hearing tourist trying to say that :rotfl2:

Hi....Sorry to give this thread a little hijack....but please fill me in on PO.....is FQ the way to go? Can someone tell me the difference between the 2 resorts?
Thanks!
