Milk, like silk here, too! :thumbsup2

I tried pronouncing it melk a couple of times to hear what it sounded like and it hurt my jaw, LOL! Weird!! :rotfl:

Does your jaw hurt if you say Lawrence Welk? :rotfl2:

Milk - just like silk.

This is how my entire family says it....except my MIL....she says MEEELK  and says the word more than she even has to....! :headache: It is annoying because it is MILK like silk.

I have one girlfriend whose niece's name is MEGAN pronouced MEG-ANN but my friend insists on calling her niece MEEEEgan....why? No one else does. :confused3

I prounounce it "m-ILK". my sister pronounces it "M-ELK".

That is too funny because it's the EXACT same way with me and my sister. I thought she was just by herself on that one.
:rotfl:

MILK like silk. DH says melk just to annoy me!:headache:

I've never heard anyone say melk. I live in VA, and we have a pretty good mix of people who grew up in the south and north, so it's kind of weird that I've never heard this.

I said an "e" sound, but I'd call it more Mee-ilk than M-elk, which in my head sound like elk rather than me. Oh, and for those explaining that it rhymes with silk, really doesn't help. :) I also say see-ilk. (Yep, just shy of two syllables.)

Milk. Melk makes me sick.
My ears pretty much fall off if I hear it. My ears are also dangling by a thread when I hear my boyfriend pronounce the words "I am" by saying "I yem". I don't know how to type it phonetically, but trust me, it's annoying.

Ha, you can tell him my 3 yo says it that way! Only it's more like "I yeam." Of course, it's funny and cute when she does it.

I am baffled why my sister says MELK!? :confused3

Maybe she's not really my sister :scared1: :scared1:
