I prounounce it "m-ILK". my sister pronounces it "M-ELK".

I say M-ilk too and my sister says M-elk. We grew up in the same house and she used to say M-ilk.

Makes me nuts when someone pronounces it "melk".

I pronounce it with the "i" sound. I've never heard anyone pronounce it with the "e" sound. I grew up in western PA and people pronounced lots of words in strange ways, but milk wasn't one of them.

Melk? What the heck is melk?

"Melk - it does a body good?" I don't think so.

I say milk - rhymes with silk.

My mom however drags it out to meeeeyouk. Drives me nuts.

Of course, she also drags out my dad's name and drives me nuts also. His name is Roy, rhymes with toy - well she probably says that weird also. She sayd Rawee - at least that is the best spelling I can come up with of how she says it.

mĭlk, just like in the dictionary. :thumbsup2

I don't like when people say melk either. Where do they get melk??

I have not heard anyone say "melk" - it that a regional thing???

Milk, like silk here, too! :thumbsup2

I tried pronouncing it melk a couple of times to hear what it sounded like and it hurt my jaw, LOL! Weird!! :rotfl:
