That when you tell them to do something, it means NOW, not when they get around to it?
For the last few weeks, it seems like my 5-year old is just totally unable to focus on anything.
I tell him it is time to get ready for karate, 15 minutes later I go in his room to get him, and he has not gotten dressed yet! I ask him what he is supposed to be doing, and then the lightbulb goes on.
"Oh yeah, I am supposed to change."
I tell him to go brush his teeth, he heads to the bathroom. 30 seconds later I find him looking for DH. I ask him what he is doing - he had the sudden need to make sure he told DH something. "Um, you are supposed to be brushing your teeth." "Oh, yeah."
I keep telling him that when I tell him to do something, that means go do it before he does anything else. He says he understands......
Are all 5 year olds like this? It is driving me nuts!
