How do you plan which park you are going to on what day...

This year it is because of where we are eating. There was only 1 day for the Illuminations cruise available on our trip and one opening at CRT to eat. Just curious if your trip is planned around meals as well.

We usually plan around EMH. Whatever park we would like to be at in the evening we plan dinner, etc around that. We use the calendar to see what parks will be open what evenings and go from there. We love the EMH, but still really miss the old days when you paid $12 to stay late.

This is our first time going to Disney. I looked at the calendar to see what parks had what hours and than I planned which park we would go to. I than planned dinner around the park we would be in. I left one day open no ADR's that way we could just decide that evening.

I hope it works out I feel like I have planned so much for this trip.

I know I can always cancel my ADRs if we arent going to use them.

I usually work it around the EMH but I'm becoming more flexible in my planning and trying not to schedule every minute. Some of it is based around meals too. I'm planning my ADR's now and trying to figure all of it out.

I'm a bit confused by the post here I think, what do you mean you try to plan around EMH, are you planning on going to which ever park had EMH or planning to avoid the parks with EMH for that day?
I planned not to go the the parks with EMH because I heard that those parks are so much busier on those day. Is my thinking correct?

We are not planners. For the last five years we have just winged it....yes, we usually don't get ADRs either, okay that's not completely true becuase this year we got ADRs for Tonys on Valentines day.

I would say that we are not the norm here. I love to read all the tips on these boards and usually have a plan - in my head - by DH is just a get up and go kind of guy and we as a family like that. We plan when we get there....I would say though that we tend to do MK on Tuesdays becuase we find it is less busy. We also do Epcot and MGM in the a.m. and p.m. respectively and usually do that on a Thursday. We will usually get dinner ressies at one of the restaurants in the parks sometime before we leavefor our trip ...

with all that said, we also usually go the week right before Pres. Day week in Feb. we have been very - very lucky regarding crowds and eating in the parks - and sometimes get ADRs for the next day and on two occasions that same day.

We ususally make our ADRs and just make sure we are at that park for dinner....DH and I ususally do 2 parks a day....when we went in September, we made sure we had at least one dinner in each park (except AK), this time, most of our dinners are either at resorts or at EPCOT!

I used TGM for the best days to visit a park. From there I booked my ADRs near whichever park I planned to be in that evening. I plan on taking afternoon breaks. So after my break I'll go to my early dinner ADRs. I made all of my dinner reservations early 5pm or 5:30pm. I didn't make any lunch reservations because I want the freedom of eating wherever when I get hungry in the afternoon.

I usually plan our days by when I can get the ADR's for the restaurants as well. THe EMH I do plan on as well although I prefer going when the parks have them in the evening. I never found it to be crowded and we went in August!

Coronado Springs here we come (again!) April 2006 :mickeyjum

We hit EMH park hard in the morning (you get a lot done if you arrive at opening) Hit all our Favs.

Then about 11:00 or 12:00 we roll this is when it starts to get real crowded and go to either a water park or a Non-EMH (have to watch the night one as well people go to this park so they will be there late).

After we close that park (if we hit a water park it's until about 4 or 5 then back to resort or non-emh ) If we are still doing ok (not dead) we will go and hit the night EMH and hit some Favs as well.

This works very well and if DW or DD want to sleep in I just go and they meet up with me or DW will go back to the room for a break if needed.

I tend to plan around morning EMH's. We'll hit the park early, then when it starts to get crowded, we'll have lunch around 11:30 at a table service restaurant. In the afternoons and evenings, we can do whatever we want.

If I know we'll be at the AK, I make dinner reservations for Epcot. I usually only make one ADR per day so it's not too difficult to just go with the flow around that.

I do plan a couple of dinners but most of the time I go with the flow... I need to see Illuminations as many times as possible so not to many dinner planning (I'll get something in the hand if needed)

I find to many plans and your stuck on them, it takes away the magic. I want to be able to change my plans, visit the park I feel to the most that day, etc. (but that is personal opinion of course)

We plan our park visits around EMH, I've never planned around where we'd want to eat dinner and still never had a problem getting into any of the restaurants we wanted to eat at.
