How do you plan a 'Princess Day'?

Note: This does not pertain, nor include, children. Just two adults trying to make a princessy sort of day within WDW. Unfortunately for us, that leaves out the awesome BBB and any crazy costumes/dress up attire.

There is a chance that my Mother will be joining me for a multi-day stay in WDW this October. If she does, I don't plan on running her wild all over the parks, but I do want to make one day completely knock-her-socks-off magic with a girly twist, hence the princess mention.

So if you could plan a Princess Day, where would you go for ADRs? What characters would you meet? What would you do/see? I'd love to hear any ideas or prototype itineraries!

Just an idea
I am thinking the Spa at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa ,
Grand Floridian Afternoon High Tea ,
order ahead a special cake to be delivered to your table or a Cinderella chocolate slipper.

Hugs Mel

Side note
I am in Canada but I was able to get my granddaughter a Tiara at "Claires"
Maybe matching Tiaras or matching Princess T-shirts

This is a great link to info on Cakes and special celebrations
Hope it's ok to share the link

I would have breakfast at CRT for sure.

You could FP+ ETWB and the Rapunzel & Friend meet. Third one's a toss-up... Cinderella & Friend would be redundant after CRT, Ariel's Grotto would be a little different since Ariel at CRT is in the blue dress. Or you could use it for something like Peter Pan, which is magical if not princessesy.

Instead of dinner, I'd do the afternoon tea at the GF and then the Wishes dessert party. No princesses, but fun and indulgent and in the theme of a princess day. :) There's also the spa at the GF if you wanted to spend some time over there before or after afternoon tea.

If you want a 'real' dinner, maybe BoG - again, no princesses, but in a castle - or 1900 Park Fare, also at the GF, which would be more Cinderella, but also Prince Charming and I believe the stepsisters.

I would wear my favorite Disney Princess-inspired outfit, get the earliest ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table, and do my favorite things at MK. I love Fantasyland so most of my time could easily be spent there. I'd even meet the Princesses again and Alice, of course. Then I would hit BoG for a lite lunch or snack before hitting the spa. I'd wrap up the night back at MK for fireworks & BOG (if you don't do lunch there) or a dessert party for dinner. princess:

EDIT: ALSO, pictures! Take lots and lots of pictures of the two of you in your Princess glory!

Unless they just changed it back, you can't do BBB unless you are under 12.

I've heard of adults going in and getting their hair done. Anyone over 12 can't have a costume make over because of the same policy that prohibits anyone over 12 wearing a costume in the parks.

You can do the BBB as an adult!

That is not true.

Unless they just changed it back, you can't do BBB unless you are under 12.

That is correct. They changed it some time ago, either in 2012 or 2013. And they are very strict with it. the policy is 12 and under. 13 and up is a no go.

Yes, but these were before the policy change.

In 2012 while drinking around the World ;) my SIL decided to be funny & throw her hair in a top knot & buy a tiara. The rest of us (Me, Mom, & other SIL) loved the idea so we all did the same. We wore them for the rest of the trip. It was so much fun!

I saw lots of girls - young and old - wearing tiaras around the parks when I went in January. You can purchase them in the parks (one of the stores across the street from the Emporium and a show near the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean are two places that come to mind that sold them) or you can buy them at home cheaper and wear them to the parks. I'd do breakfast at Cinderella's royal Table and Akershus for sure, so I'd look into park hopping. If that isn't an option (no hoppers), I would actually do Akershus and 1900 Park Fare at dinnertime. If hopping, I'd to Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast. Then I'd spend my morning at the Magic Kingdom. I'd try and get into Be Our Guest for lunch, too, especially if I could dine in the ballroom. It looks just like the ballroom in the movie! I'd FP+ Enchanted Tales with Belle and meet princesses at Princess Storybook Hall. I'd hop over to Epcot in the afternoon sometime for my Akershus dinner reservation. Akershus is my favorite princess dining experience and one I highly recommend to all of my friends looking to meet princesses.

Oh, and I might look into a princess-inspired outfit. Maybe my favorite princess shirt or something like this:

I would definitely change out the hills for some flats, though.

I would definitely do a fancy tiara, that would be so fun. I wish I would have thought of it for my last trip. I saw lots of people there wearing them. Next time we go I'm getting matching tiaras for me and my two daughters.

LOVE those princess inspired outfits that op put up. those are adorable!

I did the wishes dessert party on our last trip and it was awesome. the desserts are eh, but the view was great and not having to fight crowds was worth the price. We also did BOG dinner and thought it was wonderful. I've been to CRT and Akershus and both of those are great choices.

Not necessarily princess but a lot of fun - pick a pearl in japan at epcot. Did that with my two dd's last trip and it was magical. My 5 year old picked two oysters out, one for her and one for her little sister and I picked out my own oyster. My pearl turned out to be golden in color, my dd5 got a white pearl, and my baby dd ended up with a silver/grey pearl. We had them put in matching settings so they all look the same but are three different colors. Too awesome! I think a matching necklace with your mom could be fun.

I've done Pick a Pearl before, it was amazing! Ended up with a regular, but slightly larger pearl and it's so shiny.

This was kind of the thought process I was running with the princess day idea;

We'll plan some sort of co-ordinating, but princess-inspired outfits like matching tops, or something to effect. And tiaras, they sell them at Claire's for a ton less than WDW! It's missing that magic Mickey, but no one's going to have their nose in my hair looking at it, so.

Breakfast - Akershus. Nab pictures with Belle, Ariel, Snow, Jasmine, and Aurora.

Head to MK, and work our way through what rides we want/don't want, mostly noodle through Fantasyland for the atmosphere and shops (Mom and I are both big shop lurkers. We love to eye-candy everything for a while and then grab stuff later in the trip.) We'll also make sure to stop in the shop being CRT and ask for a little 'pixie dust'. ;)

Lunch - BoG. (I've done dinner at BoG, and didn't care for it honestly. Too pricey for the event. Lunch was way better for the castle. Yes, we'll miss out on Beast by not doing dinner, but Mom and I both aren't wild for him. We'd much rather catch Gaston outside his tavern that day!)

We may also do Afternoon Tea on this day, as I LOVED that and think she'll get a kick out of it like I did, but if it looks like our day will be too congested, I'll have to choose between BoG and AT (BoG will win out, we can do AT on a different, more relaxed day.)

At this point we'll probably either head back to the room for a bit to chill-out, or just enjoy the parades and events again, at leisure. We'll make sure to ride PPF (for her), ETWB (for both of us), see Ariel in her grotto (for me) and maybe meander our way over to other locations for missing princesses on my list (like Tiana.)

Dinner - CRT. Mom's never been there, so it would make sense to end with a bang. We'd do a late dinner so she can see the fireworks in front of the castle first. I know it'll make her bawl, it makes me bawl every time like clockwork. Yes, this part is a little repetitive given we already saw Ariel, Aurora, Snow, and Jasmine earlier, but we'll just make fun out of it. I'll make sure to have a mini-cake delivered for the both of us, or a chocolate slipper.

The Wishes Dessert Party is something I REALLY want to do, but again, this would probably end up being on a different night. This way she'll have a great view of everything later in the trip, too, and leave feeling like she missed nothing.

Thoughts?

I might be able to pass for 16-18, but no way can I pass for 12. Curse these curvy hips. :lmao:

I would do something like:
-Each of you have a nice sundress to put on for the day, make sure you've got good sandals/toms for shoes though lol
-Buy some tiaras from Claire's or somewhere, the nice, wire, actual tiara looking ones (you could also pick these up on Main Street on your way in) for each of you to wear
-Get some "I'm Celebrating" buttons that say "being a princess"
-Have breakfast at CRT with the princesses
-Get "pixie dusted" at the door to the BBB or inside the store beside the castle (not sir mickey's, the other one, can't remember right now)

-Meet the princesses and their friends, spend the day checking out the castle stage show, parade, etc, that kind of stuff.

-Head over to the Grand Flo for an afternoon spa treatment/massage, etc.
-If you really want to end if off, have a meal at 1900 park faire with Cinderella, Charming, and the step family, or even a more pricey meal at say, narcooses or the cafe over at the GFlo.

Head back over to Magic Kingdom for the evening parade and Wishes for the evening!

From one princess to another-princess sashes are another fun accessory that you might want to wear :)
Have a very special time!!!

As others have stated sashes and tiaras. You could also get matching princess theme rhinestone transfers for t shirts! Very sparkly and girly. :)

My sister and I have had several Princess days at WDW, usually for birthdays. A couple of suggestions:

CRT - At MK for breakfast lunch or dinner
Akershus - at EPCOT for breakfast, lunch or dinner
Meet all the Princesses - at MK Ariel, Jasmine (with Aladdin), Merida (plus those in Fairytale Hall)
Go to one of the resorts for some pampering - hair, make up, nails, massages
Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian
Wear Tiaras - we bought ours at EPCOT
