how do you pay?

I know a lot of people said they pay only the deposit on their hotel room when they book and then pay a little at a time until it is paid for, and I was wondering how do you pay a little at a time? Do you call and they place a payment on your credit card, do they accept a debit card payment, or do you send a check or money order or how??? We have been 3 times and I always pay when we get there but this sounds like it might be a better way to go. Thanks so much.

I call once a month and make a payment on my credit card. It is so nice to have the trip paid off before we go.

I thought it had to be paid in full by day 45? May be that is just for the room reservations?

I wait until about 50-60 days prior to leaving before I pay it, in full.

No point in letting Disney have my money, interest free, too early. I do like to pay it so the CC statement that has the charge comes just prior to us leaving.

Like others, I prefer to have that paid off so the following bill that has our other trip related charges isn't quite so massive, lol.

Someone asked me before and I suggested to them to just put the money you would have paid directly to them in an envelope marked WDW trip in their safe instead.

In the event I had to cancel before day 45, I'd rather onlyhave to worry about getting $200 back as opposed to the full amount.

You can use the WDW website to pay as well, I call to make the reservation, then log into the site to make payments. If you have a package it is required that you pay in full no later than 45 days prior to arrival. room only reservations can be paid in full when you get to the resort.

I put it on my Disney Visa: put down the minimum when I booked, then paid a big chunk twice (hopefully during those fab months that have 5 Thursdays -- that means 5 paychecks that month!) I like to have it paid off early enough that I can cash in the Disney Dollars I earn on the price of the trip.

I usually pay monthly, on-line, using my debit card (for a package)...that is, until I get sick of it, and then I just pay the thing off!!! Like, right now we are paid off for our July trip, and I like that because I don't have to think about it anymore.

I put it on my credit card that gives us cash rewards. I pay it off each month. We do room only, just works best for us.
It's sort of like putting Disney World on layaway.

I put the deposit on my disney visa then i pay the rest in disney gift cards. I buy a set amount every week at giant eagle so i can get the fuel perks then i just call and pay using them. As soon as we return from one vacation i start purchasing my gift cards in anticipation of my next.

I put the required room only deposit down (one night) then pay the balance when due on reward CC. Bill to room with reward CC to buy meals, etc. OOP. Always pay CC balance in full (rewards are not advantageous to me otherwise). But don't give anyone my money until absolutely required.

Ours would be room only and it would be nice to make a payment when we have a little extra cash that way we can pay it off soon and have it out of the way. You can use your debit card. I've always used my debit card and Disney has no problem with it.

That's a great idea, to pay off the trip before heading there and have it out of the way. All you do is enjoy the trip.. and with the debit card, you won't owe anyone anything!

I set aside money from each paycheck. When we've saved enough $$$$, we use our Disney visa to pay the deposit due when we book our vacation and pay it off when we receive our visa statement. When the final payment is due we use our Disney visa again and pay it all off when it shows up on our visa statement.

We have a budget that includes vacations. A certain amount of the paycheck goes toward vacations each month. When I book, I use a credit card to pay deposit and then when the 45 day mark hits, I buy Disney GC at Giant Eagle and pay with those. I buy the GC with our rewards CC, so I get fuel perks for the purchase and money back from the cc. And recently Giant Eagle was giving 20 cents per gallon off on Disney gift cards (instead of the usual 10 cents), so I chose then to get my $1550 in gc! Free gas, yes! We always pay our cc off each month, so the rewards really make a difference.

I agree 100%. I can't imagine paying a carrying a balance with todays interest rates.

I miss the days of 4 and 5% and you didn't feel too bad if you didn't get it paid off every month. My last CC with a rate under 15% is still outrageous to me.

I have a few cards, one for the local meijer (grocery store, although the card is a MC so I could use it anywhere) to get the discounts, one for khols, again for the discounts and then two other cards. One because it's my oldest card and the other has a pretty good rewards program.

I pay everything on that rewards card, including most of my bills. I'd put the mortgage on it if I could, lol.

The secret is to NEVER carry a balance though, the apr is something like 19.99%

If you are disciplined, CC's can be great. If not... well that's why there were 6~ million bankruptcies last year.

When I booked my vacation, I asked the CM on the reservation line for an address where I could send checks throughout the following months. I didn't want to risk using my debit card (there's a small daily allowance, and didn't want to get stuck!)

They were happy to supply me with an address and I wrote a check each month until I needed to do the final balance on my CC.

I bought 10 $100 Disney GC from Sam's Club and each one came with an extra $10 GC for disneystore.com Will be using these and Disney Reward dollars to pay for our trip. And no I do not keep a balance on my Disney Visa, NOT at those rates
