I'll bet this probably belongs on another board but just wondering how people pack their toiletries for a plane trip.

We are leaving Friday and i usually put everything in my carryon in one of those large toiletry bags that you can hang up. However, seeing that it may get searched, it seems possibly everything in the toiletry bag could fall out when unzipped.
Im wondering if I should just put everything in ziplocks and put it in the outer zipper compartment of my suitcase.
Such problems, I know!

I'd go with Ziplock - but then again I always do :)

I have always used ziplocs for my toiletries - packing a few items in each bag and then putting them all in a carry-on or checked bag.

I think this makes the bags much easier to check now - as they can pull the bags out and put them back in without moving every single item.

On our last trip we had a carry-on size bag filled with toiletries...
DH's, mine, meds/cold meds, etc. I sorted everything in small categories, and put it all in Ziploc bags...worked great.

I always put our toiletries in our carry on, and most of the ones that can open and spill I put in gallon size ziploc bags.

My toiletries stay packed at all times. You just never know when you may get to sneak in a weekend getaway. ;)

All of my items are travel sized and they are all in a see-through tote bag. They only things that get packed with my checked luggage is a corkscrew (very important) and my nail clippers.

Add me to the list of those who pack toiletries in a gallon sized zip-lock bag. I've had an occassion where lotion and shampoo exploded and the zip-lock is the only thing that saved all of my clothes!

Everything of mine gets put in Ziplocs and I check most of it. The only thing we carry on is DH's meds. Everything else can be replaced if lost.

I am another one who always uses Ziploc. Had a leakage accident once and that was enough for me.

:bounce::wave::bounce:

Each bottle ziplocked and then put in the "make-up" bag. Funny thing about the make-up bag, no make-up is ever in there.

i have a toiletry bag (about 6" by 1') and i pack things that might open in ziplocs.

Another vote for ziplocks!

My DH used to use his "shaving kit" thing but on the last trip his shaving creme exploded... what a mess... he has converted to ziplocks like me know.

I used a diaper bag. It's a black "executive" style that holds all of my full-size products. Things in the bag were strictly toiletries for the bath and shower, anything that might be needed along the ways was kept in a smaller bag in the front of the car.

Always ziplocs - I should own stock in that company.

I'm very fastidious too. Hair things have to be together, sunblocks together. All oral hygiene stuff together. I think you get my meaning.

Then I pack them all into one bag that gets checked.

With four kids, all their toys go carryon.

Definitely, use the zip lock bags. I put my stuff in there and sometimes wet or dirty bathingsuits or underwear on the last day of travel. I always pack my toiletries and check them. The only things I carry with me on board are:

small purse filled with; money, id, itinerary, meds, sunglasses, cell phone.

Don't forget to put your cordless phone car recharger in your suitcase. Since 9/11 - I do not travel without it.

Hope this helps. ... L
