How do you over-ride the AC at Port Orleans Riverside

Hi all - just wondering if there is a way to override the air conditioning at Port Orleans Riverside - we like the room cold if possible.

You'll have to go to the front desk or concierge desk and ask them to send a maintenance guy to override it. Do not call the front desk from your room. You'll be routed to a call center and maintenance will most likely never get the message.

My hubby has to have it cold. He has done two things before that helped. Can't remember which resorts. One had a sensor for temperature and he stuck a icy hot (like you put on a sore back) on the thermostat and it read the room as warmer than it was so it kept pumping cool air.

The other room had a motion sensor and would cut off while you were gone b/c there was no motion. He got a balloon from the MK and left it tied to a chair near the thermostat. He had a fan in the room (of course...cold ya know) and blew it towards fan while we were gone and the balloon moved around just enough to keep the thermostat running.

The success of these instructions depend on the type of AC unit you may have in your room. These instructions may not apply to your unit but give it a try and see...

To adjust the temperature, follow these instructions: On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (button that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, you will see the letters "bp" where the temp normally shows. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. You might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours.
