Just sitting here organizing my pins for upcoming meet and got to thinking( I know very dangerous for a trader)...

How do you organize your book/bag?
Do you do it by character?
Do you do it by pinpics order? Do you do it by parks - DL, WDW, TDL or DLRP?
Or do you just throw them in anywhere and let a looker sort it out?

What does your book/bag look like? Cork - no cork ?

I gave up.... Now I just look for empty spaces and fill them in. :)

I do it by pinpics number to help update my pinpics list. The only two exceptions are Chip and Dale pins and Figment pins.

Well, we're into year two of the cork conquest, and I love it! It is so easy to pull out a pin and check the back, or rearrange your page(s), or quickly stick a new pin in a spot.

I've heard that eventually you have replace the cork, but if it's only every couple of years, I still think it's worth it.

My current setup has my most recent, lower LE pins in the front, and then works backwards towards higher LEs, CM pins, rack pins, etc.

But I have grouped the Tink pins together on one page, and the holiday pins on a different page. I guess I made these exceptions because there are many traders who seem to be focused on these particular themes.

My traders have recently grown from 2 binders to 3 binders and a pin bag.

One binder is now exclusively for Disney Auction pins, and starts with LE 100 and progresses up to LE 1000

The other 2 binders are LE and Rack:
The LE binder is set up the same as DA, starts with lowest LE and proceeds through the pages up to highest LE

The "rack" binder is organized according to pinpics ratio, i.e. it starts with the pins that have the least amount of traders and progresses through to the pins with the highest amount of traders.

The pin bag is a work in progress, and will probably have a page of CM pins, then misc. DS, rack, and LE--generally pins that are higher in supply and less in demand according to Pinpics trading ratio.

Okay.....I hate you all!!! I am so unorganized. The only positive thing I have done, so far, is add cork to my bags. My folders have foam pages and I attempted to place character pins (Cinderella with Cinderella and associates) together but that went out the window when I put holidays together. Then I bought three beautiful shadow boxes but they've sat on the floor of my office for six months because I can't decide who/what to put in them. Did I mention that I'm also indecisive? Can I borrow one or more of you for a week or so?? I'm a really good cook.

I don't even know how many shadow boxes and frames I have....and mattes....and all the other little supplies that seemed like they'd be useful for framing pins.

As a matter of fact, I've probably spent way too much time shopping for, and acquiring all these supplies....considering I've yet to put together even one frame!

When I read the title of this thread, I had to laugh! This is a big dilema for me and I am glad I am not alone.

Right now I am just cramming them into the spaces of my only book. When we go to WDW in March, I will buy another book and maybe ;) some pins. A massive reorganization will happen when we get home!

A question.. what are y'all talking about by putting cork in your books?? Do you mean like square cork sheets to fit inside where all the backs are sticking thru?

Has anyone seen any 2004 books or other new designs yet?

My traders are in no particular order (shame on me!), but my keepers are grouped by character/theme. I have a pin binder for each (2 for my keepers), but should really think about putting in cork.

CDC - Exactly, square cork sheets to fit inside where all the backs are sticking thru. Some people do put cork sheets so they can pull pins in & out without having to remove backs.

I don't but have been thinking of this, only problem is you really have to replace sheets time to time otherwise pins start to fall out.

Love it!

We buy the 3-pack of cork squares (1/2" thick, 12"x12") at WalMart. I think it's around $7.99, and can be found with the office supplies. These are the cork squares that are intended for free-form bulletin boards. They sell the same 3-pack at Staples and Office Depot, but the price is much higher.

Ruthie RamVA told me that she buys the 1/4" cork sheets (I think these are 12"x24") and doubles them. The cork sheets are available at most craft stores, but prices also vary sharply from one chain to the next.

I've had the cork in my books now for at least 18 months, and have not needed to change it yet. And yes, I do a lot of rearranging. :)
