I can't watch a Disney commercial, see a Disney movie, or even look at pictures without getting all choked up! How on earth will I not break down like a big baby when I step into the park? I haven't been to WDW since I was a kid, and now I'm taking my kids. I've been a Disney fanatic, holding out all these years, waiting to go back - and I'm going to lose it. I told my husband that I'm going to cry the very second I see that castle. He doesn't understand. :rolleyes:
How do you not blubber all over the place? :sad: ;)

Cry is a little much. But I will admit that I get a little choked up during wishes. The message is so powerfull and true.

I have no advice for you. I get all teary-eyed the minute we walk into Magic Kingdom and I see that castle in front of me. From there..it's all downhill...Wishes, Illuminations, watching the kids, it all gets to me every single time :teeth:

Oh thank heaven it's not just me - I weep my way through Wishes every time. I'm weeping now!!! But no, I say cry - the first time I walked into WDW I was 23 had no expectations of anything, no allegiances to any characters nothing - I walked it, hugged Eyeore and burst into tears. That was that!

I don't cry at any of it, but everyone is different! The commercials are too fake for me, but I love seeing families and kids having fun, no matter where they are.

Denise

I'm so glad it's not just me :teeth: I start tearing up during the Opening Ceremony, and catch it happening various times throughout the day. I can't make it through Wishes. Dh thinks I'm nuts.

I can't tell you how many times in my many Disney trips I have seen people crying. I have seen folks crying on the bus to MK as soon as the castle comes into view. I have seen people cry when they see their kids having a special moment or during fireworks. And I have cried myself (as has my husband) and I don't worry about or apologize for it! Disney is about making special memories with your family. I also now tear up when I see things I did at WDW with my mother who has Alzheimers and won't ever be back with us. So it might be a little much for some people but for others its not. Take a hankie and weep away, you'll be in good company! And have a wonderful trip! :flower:

I cry during Wishes and I;m an emotional wreck on the last day when we have to say goodbye!

OOPs I was one of those folks crying on the bus...LOL I went for my first time at 29 years of age and quite frankly I never thought I was gonna get to see that castle EVER...So as you can imagine as soon as I saw it I lost it. My daughter thought I was crazy. She said mom don't cry we will be there in just a minute. She thought I was crying becasue the bus was taking too long..LOL

No "oops" needed! I cried (as did my daughter) and then a few days later I cried again when some other family cried for their first look! I don't feel like I am truly at WDW until I have my soppy moment glimpsing the castle! And I was almost 40 before I made it to WDW and I had been wanting to see it for most of my life. I just enjoy the moment and dont' even try to fight it anymore.

I've only cried once while watching a Walt Disney World commercial because it had been about a year and a half since I'd been and I really wanted to go back. But I have the WDW planning DVD and hearing Walt at the introduce Disneyland when it opened gets me choked up every time.

I have no doubt that when I go in March I will cry as I leave Disney-MGM Studios (my former home).

Go ahead and cry.:sad: It will make you feel better letting the emotions out. I don't have a problem admitting that on our recent Dec. trip I cried all the time.

The first time was at Fantasmic. It touched me so much that by the end of the show I had tears flowing down both cheeks. I'm not even entirely sure why I was crying but it felt good.

I also cried during Cinderellabration. Getting the chance to see Cinderella be crowned a princess with all the other princes and princesses there just brought tears of happiness to my eyes.

Mickey's Twas the Night before Christmas got me misty, and the castle show at MVMCP had me teary eyed too.:sad: :sad: :sad:

I too have the same problem. When I am walking down Main Street I get all choked up.

I cried on our last night at Disney as we were coming back to the hotel to pack. We had just seen Wishes, and I had such a fabulous time...it was our honeymoon....I didn't want to leave....so I started planning our anniversary trip back....we go in May!!! It helped a little....but DH and I were suppose to chaparone a group of foreign exchange students....but not enough students ended up being able to go so DH and I can't go. It was a free 4 day trip to Disney.....we are so bummed....We decided to extend our trip in May by 2 days to make up for it!

Its so funny this thread came up! I just said to my dh that he better watch out, I am going to be a blubbering idiot when we finally get there! I keep having these moments where I am close to loosing it and we aren't even there yet! I am, like others, just so excited to see Disney thru my kids eyes for the first time. Its gonna be awesome!!!

Love this thread! I don't feel so weird anymore! hehe :)

Here's my list of crying/teary moments, usually:
* When the video starts up on the Magic Express Bus
* Arriving in my room, a true tears of joy moment! hehe
* Walking down Main Street USA
* WIshes, Illuminations, Fantasmic...
* Tarzan Rocks <-- This is where I truly cry, not sure why but the music gets me!
* Spaceship Earth
* Checking out! hehe :)

If Walt's greeting gets to you on the commercials then the Parade of Dreams at Disneyland will definitely get you going. All of the action freezes and then Walt's voice echoes out "To all who come to this happy place, Welcome" and the dancing begins... wow, I am teary just remembering it! hehe! I so wanted a CD of that music but they do not offer one.

Have a great night all!
Mike

The all encompassing term for these "symptoms" is MOUSEBUMPS.

Oh, I cried like a baby multiple times on our Nov. trip. It was DD's first trip to WDW, so I was seeing everything through her. Awesome. I cried when we first entered WDW property, I cried when she saw Mickey the first time (dinner that night at CMs), I cried when she saw Beauty and the Beast the first time.... etc.. (trust me, there were plenty more) It's not too hard to get me teary, but I was surprised by how often it happened, honestly. :blush:

I cry, too...tears of joy! I am just so happy to be there with my kids. We can get so caught up in the 'busy-ness' of life, that it is so wonderful to just enjoy each other and have so much fun. I treasure every minute at Disney...and can't wait to go back!

I am the same way with the music when you log onto the Disney website. Something so whimsical and magical about it. ::yes:: And the commercials- especially the ones with the little girls in front of the Magic Carpets in MK. Leaving this last time, I was a mess... we had just gotten married at the Wedding Pavilion and were dirving. We were both a mess!

When DH took MIL to Disneyland (he was out there for a few weeks with the Navy), she actually cried in the parking lot. He danced with her right there on the blacktop. Growing up as an only child in an abusive and alcoholic home, the Mickey Mouse Club was her only reprieve. When she finally got to DL- 57 years later, she lost it. Just hearing about it gets me every time. :sad:

Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. You're fulfilling a lifeling dream. If you're going to cry, cry. If you're going to laugh, laugh. If you're going to do both and something else, do both and something else. Enjoy every minute of it... you're finally there! :wizard:
