How do you meet a date potential? (Inspired by Pin Wizard's single DISers thread)

I've actually met amazingly cool guys in bars, but I'm still at the age where there's a lot of quality available. I've also met men on airplanes, in work training classes, and when I crashed into their cars (not kidding on that last one). Try to go somewhere where smart, clever single men hang out. Church. Sports bars during big games. SKIING.

Wow, look at Pin Wizard's pic! Isn't she gorgeous!:sunny:

I bet you'll meet tons of guys in your area. It's a great area to meet people.:D

I've never met anyone from the internet. I don't have enough energy to write back and forth, lol. :D

I'm married, but if I were single, I'd probably be looking at church. But there is another option that I don't know if anyone has mentioned :teeth:. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but you could go to every DIS meet that you can make it to (especially the big ones like in December). Many DISers are married, but not all. And having the DIS in common means you could have other things in common, too (Disney, computers, etc).

Hi Krista!!! I haven't been on much so it's neat to see you!

Any excuse to go to the Dis Meet works for me!

I wait for my friends to meet a guy, train him, then I steal him away.

:teeth:

Relax folks, I'm just kidding.

Hi, Annette :wave2:. I was just wondering about you yesterday. I'm going back in December - any chance you will be down there?

Heh... I'm in the same boat as far as friends, Pin Wizard. No one seems to know anyone who's single.

Anyway, I'll just go about my daily business and see what happens :smooth:

And yes, I'm VERY excited about getting my daughter back!! Unfortunately, wherever we go, I'm usually the one taking the pictures, so I don't have many of the two of us together.
Sorry about the boat!

Go ahead and ask someone to take a picture of you two! I did it when we were on vacation at Club Med. This lady was more than happy to do it. Just had to show her what to do with the camera. When we were at Universal, a guy walked up to me when we were in front of the Hard Rock Cafe and asked if I wanted him to take a pic of us. :teeth: And the one in my siggie is a Sears special...LOLOLOL! The last one I had done at JC Penney when DS was 2.5! Oooooooooooooo...bad mom! He's 10.5 in the siggie picture.

I'm still trying to figure out where to meet men. I've been separated/divorced for 11 years.

I have met some through friends, internet personals and while I've dating a few of them, nothing serious has ever sparked.

I think when it's meant to be it will happen. In the mean time I spend so much time running my son everywhere that who has time to meet men?.

Although I always thought that I would meet some single Dad at all the hockey functions. That's never happened and I'm usually the only single Mom within the group.

Now, that I'm the big 4-0 I think the chances are getting slimmer but that's okay.
I've tried the internet thing lately also. Met two guys that way. No sparks. So long, Charlie. :) Yes, you would think single dads would be at kids sporting events. I hate the feeling of being the only single mom in the groups. But you seem to be okay with that. :)

Ugh! Don't mention the age factor being added! :faint:

LOL! Well, maybe I should just go do the ole Sears special. Part of the problem is my daughter is a bit on the shy side. She doesn't mind me taking pictures of her, but other adults, she gets a bit uneasy (she's been through a lot of changes over the past couple years, which, I'm sure, contributes to that).

We took a Disney cruise in May and we didn't get a single decent picture from the ship photographers. Alyssa was always trying to hide behind me when they came out with the cameras! I, however, got several good pictures of her... Insert shameless plug for Disney cruise pictures here. And occasionally she'll take a good picture of me (I have a digital, so she can take as many as she wants!).

Basically, the only time I get pictures of both of us is when we go up to visit my parents.

LOLOL! Thanks for the plug! LOLOL! There ARE a lot of guys here...CUTE! I'm also noticing how young they are. LOL! When did our military get so young? ;)

Become a prison visitor, that's what I did. After a few years inside those women are game for just about anything. That's how I met my wife. She was doing six years for assault with a deadly weapon.

I did some practice runs with a few others before I settled on her though.;)

I would imagine it would work just as well for you ladies who are looking for a man.

Give it a go. What have you got to lose?

Murder and armed robbery didn't meet your expectations? I bet you hardly even gave them a chance! ;)

Those pictures are gorgeous! She does look a bit shy in the one with Aurora. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...maybe just mention to her that you'd like a nice picture taken by a photographer of you both. Tell her you'd like one up on the wall and a nice one to keep in your wallet. Maybe just get her thinking about it.

Well, it couldn't hurt to try. Maybe she'll warm up to the idea. She does like it when I put pictures of her up at work, so I'll play that up and see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion and the kind words :)

:) Any time. Hope it works.

We were on the May 1st- May 8th, Eastern itinerary. Neither of us had been on a cruise before. It was fantastic :) Perfect vacation for a single dad with a young child, IMO. Even my shy, clingy daughter was asking to go to the kids' club for a couple hours a day! A great vacation with her, but I got an hour or two break from keeping up with her every day :)

:earseek: Yikes! Triple posters' club! :earseek:

Jrydberg, your daughter is absolutely adorable!! Do you think a camera with a timer would work? My DBF seems to have fairly good luck with using his tripod to get pictures of the two of us together. We are going hiking next week in Yellowstone & Grand Teton - he bought a snowboard backpack so his tripod would fit in it! :teeth:

PW, LOL about the military age comment!

TigerBear, that's possible. I got a couple somewhat decent pictures on the cruise by simply putting my camera on the dresser and setting the timer ;) But at home I'd have a much better shot at getting a good picture that way. Good idea :)
