How do you "mark" your ecv rental so you know it's yours?

Scheduled for ECV delivery from Randy next Saturday for hubby to use. He told DH we would need to mark it some how so we would which one is "ours."

So -- what's the best way to do this, can I add one of those bike flags and put his name on -- or something like that.

TIA

It should have a placard on the front of the basket or the back of the seat that gives the company you rented from and the last name of the person who did the rental. However, if there are several ECVs parked together, trying to find yours by that is like trying to pick out your car by the license plate in a parking lot. It's possible, but slow and cumbersome. If you leave your ECV in stoller parking while you walk into a store, or if a ride has an unload spot different from the loading spot, the CMs may move the ECV, so you need a way to quickly pick it out.

Some people tie a distinctive scarf on an arm or on the basket. I have a brightly printed tote that I leave in my basket. I do not leave anything valuable in the tote -- my money, camera, cell phone and KTTW all go in a waist pack that stays with me. But the tote has things like my fan, a bottle of water, park maps, etc. Stuff that is helpful to have but won't break my heart if it "walks off". Mind, nothing ever has disappeared from my basket, but one never knows.

Depending on how high it sticks up, the bike flag could give you problems or buses or monorails, or in shows. I did wish I had one last time when a friend and I went together, both on ECVs, as it would have helped us stay together.

Hi......What I usually do is take a backpack and loop it through the wire part of the front basket. In there, I put meds, and extra change of clothes for the kids (in a ziploc incase it rains) some sunscreen, bandaids, autograph books, extra ziplocs and ponchos and any "personal items" we may need. I dont like leaving anything in the basket that someone could take, so I usually use that for chips, sodas, bottles of water and maps.
The backpack not only gives you an extra 1/2 foot of space so when the people walking towards you give you the "deer in the headlight look" :lmao:as they dont move out of the way, but it is great extra storage and MUCH easier to know the scooter is yours.

I make a seat cover and a sign for the basket. That makes it very easy to identify!

I made a seat cover and a back cover and a headrest cover.

This was super easy to make! I don't really "sew"...I just took some comfy fabric (fleece) that I purchased on sale - this is camo because our trip theme was army related (long story)...

But I purchased ribbon and just sewed (by hand) about an inch or so of overlap around a generally rectangular piece of fabric - I added about 8 or 10 inches on each side to allow it to overlap the seat. Then I just took the ribbon and tightened it and tied it in a bow.

It would not last for very long - it was crudely sewn - but it was perfect for a week or so of a trip. It kept the seat from getting super hot in the sun, kept the seat from getting sweaty and it was fun and more comfortable to ride around in all day. And I could always identify my wheelchair.

Someone should make them and sell them. But not on the DIS - that would get us in trouble. :rolleyes1
