She got this huge take out container, a salad, bread & butter for $7.95! :teeth: There was enough there for two people! I said oh my I will have to go and pick one of those up one night for dinner! Then I thought, hey let me just make some at home, add my own meatballs! OK now I'm hungry!

Tell me please how you make your's!

Same but different. I add 8 oz. of ricotta cheese and a 1/2 of mozzerella cheese in the mix before I add the layer of cheese topping. I also use a meat sauce.

Patty what kind of cheese are you using? I think the pizza shop used mozorella

Baked Ziti is basically the same as a lasagna recipe.

I use 1 pound of ricotta cheese, an egg, and a handful of grated Romano cheese and mix them all together.

Put thin layer of sauce on the bottom of your pan, then a layer par cooked ziti, more sauce, the cheese mixture and some grated mozzarella and continue to layer. My top layer is always alot of grated mozzerella, I like it that way, my mother makes the sauce her top layer,

Cover w/ foil and bake at 400 until cheese is bubbly.

I cook the ziti and add the homemade meat sauce to it. then I put half in the pan. spread a layer of ricotta cheese, and 3/4 a package of mixed Italian cheeses. Add the 2nd half of the ziti and sauce then cover the top with the rest of the italian cheese package and sharp provolone. cover with foil and bake 375 until bubbling

This is what I do as well. I also add some spices to my cheese mixture (garlic powder, basil, oregano and a dash of black pepper)

For all my baked dishes I do about the same. Half a box of the pasta (16 oz box), about 30 oz of tomato sauce (seasoned). 1 pound of cooked ground beef (or any kind of ground meat). 2 cups of shredded mozzerella.

Cook the pasta. Brown meat with seasons (any Italian variety of choice works). Add about 30 oz of tomato sauce and season, to the beef. Mix in the mozzerlla. Pour in lightly greased 11 cup (9x7) glass baking dish. Bake for about 30 mins at 400° until it is all bubbly.

You can use ziti, penne, and even rigatoni for all this.

Here's my Ziti Bake recipe. This is requested a lot around here.

spaghetti sauce (I'll use a large can of Hunts or jar of Ragu)
1 16 oz pkg ziti
1 lb lean ground beef
15 oz ricotta cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesean cheese
1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
18 oz. shredded mozzerella cheese

Prepare ziti as directed, drain. Cook beef in dutch oven. Preheat oven to 350. Add to beef the ricotta, parmesean, 1/2 of spaghetti sauce, parsley, egg, salt & pepper. Add prepared ziti to mixture and toss gently to coat well. Spoon mixture into a 13 x 9 baking dish, pour remaining spaghetti sauce evenly over ziti mixture. Sprinkle with mozzerella cheese. Bake 20 minutes or until hot & bubbly.

I cook the macaroni for about 10 minutes. Then I drain it and put it back in the pot. I add the sauce, the meat & the ricotta & mozzerella cheeses. Then I put a little sauce in the bottom of my baking dish, pour the stuff from the pot, add more sauce & mozzerella on top & bake.

But I've got to admit, I think I'm going to make it Cindy's Mom's way--that sounds fantastic!

Mine is similar to Allieandmattsmom's recipe, but a few variations:

1. Cook a box of ziti
2. Brown 1 lb bulk italian sausage
3. In a LARGE casserole dish, mix large container of ricotta, 6 oz shredded mozzarella, 1/4 C parmesan, 1 egg, dash pepper.
4. Add the cooked ziti, sausage, and one jar of chunky Ragu. Mix together. Sprinkle top with 2 oz shredded mozzarella.
5. Bake covered at 400 for 1 hour.

I use a similar recipe, but I substitue the ricotta. Instead I stir a tub of Philadelphia cream cheese with onions and chives in my noodles. Then the layers are basically the same as the other posters.

I mix the ziti with sauce, browned ground beef, sausage, ricotta with one egg some parmesan and parsley, shredded mozzarella, top with mozzarella and parmesan and bake. I don't measure anything
