How Do You Know When Delta Changes Your Flight Time/Schedule

After reading all the posts about Delta changing flights, I am nervous the same will happen to us. We are booked to fly Delta July 17 and back on the 22nd. I have not received any emails, but I have been going to their website and looking at the Itineraries, and logging in with my name and confirmation number. So far, everything looks like what I booked. Should I be looking at something else?

You are doing everything right. I would periodically check your itinary online (every few weeks) and keep an eye out for a Delta email...

You need to check back frequently either by telephone or by internet.

You don't have to log in each time. If the flight schedule avilable to the public without logging in still shows your flights at the same times, you are still booked. Do log in at least every couple of weeks to be sure.

Nope, you are doing it right!! Just keep checking it periodically!!I booked my flight for March 3rd about four months ago, and there were no changes to it at all, yet other people had their flights changed a few times. So just keep on top of it and you should be fine!! :teeth:

I've been checking my Itinerary every day, at least once!
Since I booked our 3/31-4/7 flight back in August they've changed our flight times, cancelled our flights and taken away our seats about 10 times.
The good news is, it takes less than a minute to check them; we've gotten better flight times and kept our row 6 seats by calling and confirming right away.
Good luck all,
Joe

We've been flying Song/Delta the last several years and this has been my experience as well. I check at least every few days. Just two days ago I noticed a big change in our flight from Boston to Orlando for May 11th, so I called them. I found out they cancelled our late-night flight, so we were given the choice to pick any other flight. My DH said he'll take the entire day off of work, so now we're flying down that morning which basically gives us an extra day at WDW (We already had AKL booked for that night anyway).

My advice is to check your itinerary frequently. And SeaShoreCM is right; if you don't see your flight listed on the web site, there's been a change, and you should call them. They've always been very friendly and very helpful :sunny:

There were no changes noted on my itinerary when I checked it. I found the change because I checked flights for my dates and my flights were no longer listed.

I got an email about a week after I booked my flights saying they had changed one of the flights (my return) to a different time, 4 1/2 hours earlier than the original time. We had planned to go to MK that day again so I looked on Song's website, found a flight that worked better for us, only an hour earlier than origiinally planned, and called them. They changed it for us with no problem. All we care about really is sitting together so they got us seats together and said to check on the day of the flight to see if we can move closer to the front.

We are using Delta when we go in June, they have already changed our flight info a few times. We booked through Disney, and the last time that everything got changed they even tried to charge us 100.00 per person. When I called the cm at Disney threw a fit, I guess they have been having a lot of problems with Delta changing flights on them. I hope that whatever it is gets worked out before we go in June, I am not big on flying anyway.

Delta will continue to change flights as they try to become profitable.

After reading this - I went and checked my Delta flights for June. Flight times changed by less than 5 minutes. However, all our seat assignements were gone. For some reason, I couldn't change them online and had to call to get them assigned. Will be watching it more closely.

Cheers!

Wh-wh-what??!!! We have Delta booked for May 30-June 7, and chose our flights specifically to get there early and leave late - to maximize our time at WDW. If they change our flights I will be :furious: :furious: :furious: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Going to check our itinerary now.... :surfweb:

Never hinge your hopes and dreams on flight schedules, more than a few months in advance. That sort of thing is never part of the assurances an airline provides in terms of the service you're purchasing. Always hope for the best but assume the worst in that regard, and you won't be disappointed.

It's Sunday, so Delta is changing flight times!!! It happens to me almost every week. And my seats are now unassigned....Delta keeps telling me I don't have to call them each and every time it changes something..to just wait until just before the day of travel. Yeah, right.

Often times flights are condensed, meaning if Delta has a 1:30 flight to Atlanta and a 3:55 flight to Atlanta, both are 1/2 full, then the airline will condense these flights down to a "happy medium" such as a 2:35 flight to Atlanta, and rebook all passengers on this flight.

Wow, if this is the case, what would happen if two flights are combined and because of this you miss a connecting flight?
I am considering flying Delta to Cancun, but first have to fly to one of their hubs and then fly to Cancun from there????

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you

I will never fly Delta after this experience (it's long!). Our flights were changing left and right, but it was OK b/c they seemed to be just a little earlier on the flight down and a little later on the return. Our friends who were flying with us, called and asked for an even earlier flight down due to the change. They changed if for her no problem. So I thought I should change mine as well, just in the off chance that it changed again to a much later flight. Called twice and neither Rep. allowed me to change without a fee. I couldn't believe it. So I gave up. Then the e-mail comes last night stating they changed my return flight (4 hrs earlier than my original booking). I was absolutely frustrated! I called and spoke to a very nice lady who advised they did not have another flight later that night that was a direct flight. I asked if I could find another flight on another carrier, would they refund me my money for the return flight and she advised that they would. She also allowed me to move my flight down to the earlier time with our friends, no problem!! So I find a flight on Jet Blue that meets our needs (not our financial ones however). I book on Jet Blue and call back Delta only to find out from yet another rude Rep.( the first two I spoke to were very rude and could not even apologize for the inconvenience) that they cannot refund my return flight. They could give me a voucher (NOT) or they could cancel the entire reservation (flight down and flight back) and re-book my flight down for $60 more a ticket. Now mind you, this is after I spoke to the nice young lady who said I could and to the gentleman (in the re-issue Dept.) that answered my call for the refund. He attempted to talk me out of cancelling b/c I would not be able to get the price I got the tickets for back in Sept (thanks....like I don't know this!!) He even stated the cost of $74 per ticket that I would get back and it would cost me more with another carrier. I advised that I was well aware that it would cost me more, but I was so frustrated and upset at this point, I was not going to stay with Delta for our return flight. He then places me on hold (for a very long time) and transfers me to the refund desk to a very rude person who proceeds to tell me that my only two options are the voucher or the re=issue at the higher price. I tell her I was told by two other Reps that I would get a refund for the return flight and she tells me "You weren't speaking to the Refund Dept. and I am the Refund Dept. telling you what you can do!!" As if it were my fault to listen to the Delta Representatives in the Re-issue Dept!!! Nobody ever offered to transfer me to Refunds. I was only ever transferred to Re-issue when I stated I wanted a re-fund!!!! She then advised me that she will make an "exception" and refund my return flight, but I would only receive $54 per ticket!! I asked to speak with a Supervisor and she placed me on hold for what seemed like forever! What a surprise, the Supervisor was even rude (must be a special Customer Service class they all took!!) I told her my dilemma and all she stated was the previous women had offered me the "exception" and that was all they could do. After going back and forth for nearly 30 min and her not stating anything b/c "she was just going to tell me the same thing" I finally gave up and cancelled my entire flight with Delta and booked my flight down on Jet Blue (at least I know we will get the in-flight entertainment, which we lost when Delta took over Song! All our changes ended up on a Delta plane (no TVs)) I plan on writing their Corporate, which the Supervisor was so nice to offer up!! I've flown SW for the past 8 trips to Disney and never had a flight changed or cancelled once. The only reason we decided to use Song was b/c they had the "cheaper" flights back in Sept., when SW didn't. This is our school vacation week, so I knew SW would not have any deals for our flights! Now I have to see if they actually refunded the total amount to our credit card. Good Luck to those of you who have flights on Delta!
