How Do You Get To Stay In The Cinderella Castle Suite?

Delta is doing a sweepstakes right now that includes a 1 night stay in the castle! Would be awesome

It makes me sad to know that "common folk" can't stay there but if your name is Neil Patrick Harris or Suri Cruise you can. Very frustrating to those of us who would LOVE a chance to stay a night in Cinderella Castle but never will because we are not a celebrity! :furious:

I had read somewhere that nights in the castle are not 'sold' but can be won or can be granted following a sizeable charitable donation. Not sure how accurate that is, but if true maybe less to do with celebrity than size of bank balance. Would be nice to think it can't be bought!

I'm so jealous. I hope that NPH and his husband, David, had a great time with their twins. I bet staying at Cinderella Castle as a small child is just the most incredible thing, even with celebrity parents.

According to NPH's Twitter, the whole thing is part of a nationwide scavenger hunt for their 9th Anniversary, so it wasn't him that set it up.

I always wondered what happens when you stay in the castle. Are you "banished" to your room after park close or are you allowed to casually stroll through the park....

Also wondered where in the castle it is... Like looking up at it... Anyone know?

Once the park closes you can't leave the room. Its about halfway up or so. The only outward windows are facing fantasyland and liberty square.

From my understanding, you are provided a concierge who stays on duty at all times you have castle access. The concierge MUST accompany you if you want to leave the suite after hours. Apparently they will call ahead to clear any maintenance workers in the area you want to visit, and are able to summon culinary staff, ride operators, and retail cashiers, although that may take a little bit of time from when the request was made.

The suite is the level above CRT. The windows are stained glass. The door is an unmarked wooden door, I believe its the first one on the right as you walk into the breezeway from the Main Street side. Behind that door is the concierge desk and an express elevator to the suite itself.

I don't think you can visit the park or summon ride operators to allow you to ride rides. You can have food brought to you or you can be escorted out if the park if you need to leave for some reason and escorted back to your room when you return.

I don't know, while normally I would agree with you, this is only 1 room we are talking about. Meaning each year, only 365 people or familes can stay in the room. No matter how you try to offer it, that isn't really "fair" for anybody and the chances of being one of those people are very slim.

i am sad because i will never get to play golf at augusta national because i am not a celebrity or CEO of a large company. i am not frustrated or furious because its not a public place and its owners can do with it as they please.

I follow NPH on twitter also and saw this yesterday. I am happy for NPH as I am a fan. Also very envious.

I was under incorrect impression that after Year of a Million Dreams the Castle Suite was closed. A zillion peeps would love a chance to stay in the Castle. It would be cool if Disney had another year long promotion like Year of a Million Dreams for the non-celebratory average Disney tourist to win a chance to stay in the castle.

King of the Castle is a phrase I never would have expected from Neil Patrick Harris.

i would guess that more "common folk" have stayed in there since it opened. they gave away a night in the castle everyday for over a year at one point. thats 365+ people plus this delta contest. also, i am sure they dont let any celebrity that asks stay there. so, your odds are probably better as a "common folk". doesnt neil patrick harris do the candlelight processional every year? maybe he wrote it in his contract that he can stay there once in in his life.

I guess what surprises me most is why Disney actually built it. It seems like they never had an intention on getting a return investment on it (meaning put it up for public bookings), and knowing Disney, it, well, seems very unlike them to do something just to do it. That is unless celebrities actually pay to stay there but I get the hunch that they don't.

Wasn't the plan for it to be living quarters for Walt and his family (like the apt overlooking Main St in DLR) ? I could have sworn I read that somewhere, I think they just kept the original plan for that area
