how do you get the mickey ears???

im going to disneyworld in january and i was wondering how do you get the mickey ears. . .someone told me you get them at magic kingdom at te chapeau store(i probably spelled the name wrong). . .do you have to buy something there and ask the cashier for the card for the ears or what??? im so confused. . .please help!!!

For the Classic black ears, you have to create a character at VMK Central, then trade the ears over to your principle character.

For the Gold ears, you have to buy an actual gold ears cap and ask the cashier for a VMK card.

As I am a DL-er, I have no clue which shops to go to for the Gold Ears in WDW.

You can get the golden ears by purchasing a hat at the Chapeau on Main Street in WDW. We were just there Sunday and purchased a hat because I stupidly forgot mine at home. The person at the register nicely gave us more than one card for our purchase. We got the black Mickey ears for creating our character in the park. Does anyone know if the ears are tradeable? I stupidly entered all three of my golden ears onto my main character and forgot to enter one onto my park character. I don't want to take any of the cards from DH and DD. One other nice thing about the quests at WDW is that they have signs on all the registers that have the cards so it is easy to tell if you are at the right place.

If you're going in January they probably won't have the gold ear cards anymore, though there could easily be something to replace it. Mine all say they expire at the end of next month. You can still create a spare character (just make sure you sign up an extra free email like hotmail or yahoo before going to the park, unless you create a kid character) and they automatically get black ears, which you can trade over to your main.

All Mickey ears are tradeable though.
