We have a great rate at the Dolphin, but after reading everyone rave about the poly I'm thinking of switching.

Resident Rate or Passholder Rate is the lowest that you get. Try check out the "mousesavers" site for the latest info, they've got all the tips and codes.

The Polynesian Resort holds so many wonderful memories for our family that they all overflow into each subsequent visit. It's like "going home" and our children enjoy it as much as my lovely wife and I do. From a very early age we played a game on the monorail coming into the resort grounds. There's a Tiki face on one of the first buildings you see following an outcrop of bamboo. They're getting old to care for it now, but when we passed that bamboo we'd all keep a look out for "the face". I'm betting they'll remember and play it with their kids some day.

It's well worth the money for a visit, maybe even a split hotel trip. Just do yourself a favor and give it at least 3 nights. That's enough to soak in the environment and really take in the details.

Enjoy...

The BEST rate you would ever get is a CM rate but that is very hard to come by.

Do you know what the CM rate usually is for Value season?? Have a friend who's offered to get me rooms (She's a CM)..but said she can only do it 3 months out... so not until September. Not getting my hopes up, but what could I be looking at??? I need 2 rooms there in December and I'm already budgeting for AAA Rate, but an awesome CM rate would make my day!!!

Ohh, of course. I knew that, it just slipped my mind. I have a friend who is willing to let me use her discount for a room (she would book it for me), but I'm not sure if I want to do that because I'm not sure if it's frowned upon with Disney or not. I wouldn't want her to get in any kind of trouble or anything.

I got the CM discount in July of 2004 through my cousin and it was 50%.

I think the best that a Cm can get now is 40% but that's still quite a good amount of savings.

Nope..It's not frownwed upon. It's a benfit that they can use at their discretion for family and friends.

No not forwned upon at all but if they are a really good freind of yours make sure you are on your best behavior because. If you are a demanding guest it reflects poorly on them.

It varies what the AAA discounts are, but a good rule of thumb from Mousesavers:

In general, the discounts run as follows:

During Value Season you can get up to 15% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 20% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

During Regular Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts and the Ft. Wilderness campsites.

During Peak Season you can usually get up to 10% off at the Disney Deluxe and Disney Vacation Club resorts, or 15% off at the Value and Moderate resorts.

The only time AAA/CAA discounts don't usually apply is Holiday Season (around Christmas).

The Polynesian is considered a Disney Deluxe resort.

The Polynesian seasons run as follows:

2006 Seasons

Value Season: 1/1 - 2/15, 7/5 - 10/4, 11/26 - 12/19
Regular Season: 4/23 - 7/4, 10/5 - 11/25
Peak Season: 2/16 - 4/22
Holiday Season: 12/20 - 12/31
