I am having a hard time getting my recommended amount of calcium everyday. I try to drink a cup of milk everyday but I'm still falling short by 60%.

What are some of your tricks for getting your calcium in?

I'm a big fan of cottage cheese and yogurt, just not at the same time. I also take a daily vitamin.

I've never tried cottage cheese and I'm not a big fan of yogurt. However, I did just buy me some Greek Gods Greek style yogurt. I just have to work up the nerve to try it.

I completely forgot about a daily vitamin. Why didn't I remember that. I'm picking up some today!!!

I don't drink much straight milk.... I love it but too many points for a drink. I try to eat cereal (sometimes for lunch) so that will give me a half serving of milk. I also eat lots of broccoli and spinach and other veggies that have calcium. I enjoy lowfat cottage cheese a few times a week also. And for an occasional treat I will have a small serving of real ice cream. Nice way to get some calcium. Good for you for thinking of your calcium. I really should be better about it. I suppose you could take a supplement. Don't forget, weight-bearing exercise is excellent for your bones as well..........P

Glass of milk with breakfast, glass of milk before bed. Yogurt smoothie -yumm! Slice of cheese.

I use calcium supplements, prescription Evista (diagnosed with osteopenia) and also exercise.

I noticed mozzarella string cheese (low fat) is not mentioned here. I think that would be a source.

The Fage greek yogurt is definitely my favorite that I've tried. All others taste funny to me. I mix in berries, honey, and/or nuts with it...yummy!

I also make fruit smoothies every morning.... 1/2 cup 1%milk, 1/4 lowfat vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen raspberries, 2 ice cubes.... doesn't taste like dairy (I hate plain milk by itself!) and I'm pretty addicted! (I also add whey protein powder and a tsp of 'healthy' peanut butter for protein but you can omit those!)
