How do you get a babysitting service?

Do you arrange it before you go with the actual company, or can you arrange it through the hotel once you get there? We will be staying at the GCV - if that makes a difference. Just realized that Pinocchio's Workshop is only for 5 and up and we have a 4 year old. Thanks!

The hotel doesn't arrange babysitting services, you will need to do it. They will have a few places that are routinely used. Our preference is Fullerton Child Care. We use it for my brother's boys.

When I made our reservation for the DLH, I asked them about babysitting with a private service (DS is 4) and the CM on the phone said that I can contact concierge the day of and they will contact the babysitting service for me and get it all arranged (we're not staying concierge, but they will do this for us, I guess.) I think I will do it ahead of time, though, and contact them myself. I'm guessing that they only take cash, so I'd like to talk to them ahead of time and see how much they will charge so I know how much cash to bring. DD has food allergies, so I'd like to let them know about that ahead of time too.

I used Round the Clock Sitters back in 2011 when my youngest was only 4, and have them scheduled again in 3 weeks :yay:
I'll post a review after.

When we were there, we were told DL wouldn't do anything towards getting a babysitting service due to liability issues. But we've used Fullerton Child Care twice in the past and they've been fine. Their sitters are mature women; both of the ones we had were probably in their 50s. It does seem like they only took cash. I'd recommend calling several weeks before you go. You will also have to pay for parking for the sitter.

This. We had to arrange our own babysitting, as should DLR arrange the babysitting services, they are the deep pocket should anything happen.

If you are staying at the DLR hotels, you can add the sitter to your room, and you get 2 cars per room, so no additional parking fee. I believe it was cash only.

We used Fullerton childcare. Our sitter was Joanne. She was really good with our 2 little ones. Would highly recommend her. She got them to take a nap when we can barely get them to nap. She was prepared with toys and activities to keep them busy. My child wanted to know when Joanne was coming again. Good luck. Please let us know what happens!
