How do you define disney magic?

Precisely. That's what I was trying to explain in my previous post. For me, it's the polar opposite. It's knowing it's all make believe, but being able to succomb to it regardless. It's a blissful suspension of reality. I suspect, though, that's what we're all attempting to articulate in different ways.

You are right Deb, I think that is what I WAS trying to convey, i certainly wouldn't attempt to fly across Fantasyland or anything:lmao: But it is so very hard to explain as we've all discovered;)

Being able to forget about real life and work. It makes me have a smile on my face. WDW is like no other theme park as it truly imerses you into living the fantasy. I love all theme parks but Disney is just the one where dreams come true and the surroundings become real.

Also Claire, Disney has enabled me to meet special people like you

Susan

Aww thank you so much Sue, I feel the same way, the magic is so much more than the actual trip, it is the planning and all that goes around it such as these boards. Disney brings people together like a second family and that is real magic too.

I know its not real, but the feeling you get when you walk through MK gates is unreal. Its the only place where I can be a child and be silly with my children and no one cares. They love it. Casey still believes its actually Mickey Mouse and its great. A place where we all can bond and be a family. We love it and no where else have I ever felt content. I loved NYC, but that was another kind of WOW.

Disney I dont know I just love it. I love everything about it and fantasmic music sends shivers up my spine. Its so emotional.

I soooooooooooo cant wait to go again! Not long now!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Its the feeling you get when you hear the music to the disney adverts you see on TV.
Its the goosebumps you get when watching wishes or illuninations.
Its the sign of relief you feel when you enter the magic kingdom again after all this time.
Its the feeling that i don't have to be 'an adult' (or moody teenager in my case :)) that i can just have fun without people caring that my t-shirt and shorts are co-ordinated or that my top is from primark, its just about having a good time!
Its the swell of emotions you get when hearing the music you've heard for yeas but it feels new everytime.
The feeling of anticipation, rather than fear, before getting on a ride.
Its the feeling of niceness, calm and order which is so wonderful!

Although I had always wanted to go to Disney since a small child when an uncle who worked for Pan Am frequently when to Disneyland, when we could finally afford to go the cynical part of me was sure I would find lots of faults to pick holes in and the once-in-a-lifetime holiday would be a one-off. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I still get all emotional when I think of that first view of Cinderella's Castle on that first magical ferryboat ride to MK and coming toward us was another ferry with Goofy, Chip and Dale waving to us. :cloud9:

Needless to say, I totally succumbed to the Magic!!! :wizard: :wizard:

I can't think of any way better to describe it than you all already have..........and although I'm sure I'll enjoy some non-Disney holidays in the future, I cannot imagine a future without Disney holidays featuring very heavily in it, especially when it's just me and DH and we can afford to stay in the nicer hotels!!! :rotfl2:
