How do you decide which restaurant?

For those of you who have used TGM, how do you plan which restaurants to visit? Doesn't TGM suggest which days are best to go to each park? I'd like to plan my eating choices based on which park I would most likely be in on any given day but I'd have to make my restaurant ressies in January (planning for an early July trip) and I don't even have WDW ressies yet. Am I missing something?

You may want to try posting this on TGM's boards...his info should not be discussed here. Good luck with your planning! :flower:

If you have any questions for us here on the DIS Boards, we'd be more than happy to try to answer them! :)

especially a moderator! I WAS just trying to answer the OP's question. If she got "caught" discussing TGM info on the DIS, she could have her service with TGM terminated, as per the user agreement-here is the pertinent clause:

The analysis and presentation included in the service may not be re-circulated, redistributed or published by you without prior written consent from TourGuideMiKE, L.L.C. Modification of the service's content would be a violation of TourGuideMiKE, L.L.C. copyright and other proprietary rights. Additionally, you may not offer any part of the service for sale or distribute it over any other medium including but not limited to over-the-air television or radio broadcast, Internet posting boards, Internet chat rooms, a computer network or hyperlink framing on the Internet without the prior written consent of TourGuideMiKE, L.L.C..

Of course she may ask about choosing restaurants here on the DIS, just not in relation to TGM's advice. Please don't flame me, I'm just trying to help.

Jenwogley, I know you were trying to help the OP..so was I! :) I wasn't posting in response to what you had said, I just wanted to let the OP know that if she had any other questions (outside the TGM questions, which you responded to very well) she.was welcome to ask them. No flaming here, I promise! :grouphug:

Thanks, Kaycee! I am new here...don't want to ruffle any feathers! I love Disney, and I love food, so I really like this board! :flower:

Then we have a lot in common. :goodvibes I think you will find the DIS Boards to be a friendly, welcoming place - although I do want to offer one warning - it's addictive!

I'm not a member of TGM, but I'm just trying to get some sort of an idea since I'm not yet booked for anything and am planning for early July. Let me try and re-phrase...will be able to know which park would be best to go to on each day so that i can plan my meals before my ADR date in January?

Hi Amy! If you are wanting advice on which days are best for which parks, I highly recommend visiting our Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies board. The posters over there are experts on touring the parks. A lot will depend on what time of year you want to visit, what you're interested in seeing and doing, what your touring style is, how many and what ages make up your party, whether you want to take advantage of EMH or not, and other factors.

Once you decide which parks you'll be visiting which days, you can look at the restaurants in or near those parks and see what looks good to you. Come back and see us here on the restaurant board, and we'll help you plan your meals. :)

And don't worry if your plans aren't set in stone by January. You can start making ADRs then for your July trip, and it's a good idea to make the ADRs for popular places that you know you want to visit as soon as possible, but you don't have to make every ADR at exactly 180 days out.

Amyg - try www.touringplans.com/BestDays.htm . It has a list (at the bottom of a long page) of the best/least crowded days to visit the parks that's constantly updated.

Just from experience, I can tell you the whole place can be crowded in July. I'd stay away from parks on EMH days. And I wouldn't go to the MK on a Saturday.

I didn't want to sign up for TGM until I had a firm reservation for July and I'm still haven't gone to AAA yet since. Don't you have to put in exact travel date when signing up for TGM anc cannot change them in case of changes in travel itinerary? That was my main concern about joining without a firm ressie. :flower:

You can pick the date you "think" you will be going when you sign up and change it when you have it pinned down. the sooner you sign up the more you will gain from the AVP and from the folks on the forums. Your time is based on 30 days from the end of your trip, whenever it is. Come on over and join us.

Okay...so if I think I'll be going July 5 - 12, my membership would be good 30 days after the 12th. And if I find that I have to change my dates to later in July, I can change that? Thanks so much, I REALLY appreciate it! :flower:
