Add a line to your cell plan, or get a pay as you go phone, and port your number to it.

BAck in the day when I canceled our landline...it was so long ago I can't remember how I did it..but I ported my landline # to my cellphone and activated it there. I still get calls from friends who think it's our landline,I've had this number for almost 30 years!

When I turned off my mom's landline number when I sold her house, they phone company forwarded all her calls to my landline number (or any number i wanted). They said they would do that for 6 months, then the number would be come available to be reused again.

Really doesn't matter whether the phone number your give out is a cell or a landline, telemarketers will find it and call you.

You need to get https://www.nomorobo.com/ it's even available for cells phones! We still have a home phone as it's part of our internet/cable/phone bundle. I have the nomorobo and all my telemarketer calls get zapped. The phone only rings when someone I know or a legit place calls me. I love it.

I don't like people bugging me on my cell phone either, I find it intrusive. I know I can just not answer, but it bugs me; what do they want and I can't LET IT GO! This way only if it's an emergency do people call me on my cell. Most just call the home phone and leave a message.

I might switch to another cable provider that doesn't offer phone but I've been dragging my feet because I didn't feel like learning the whole port home phone to google voice thing, ugh.

Won't work. Almost everyone I know has their phone set up to block the ID.

We've tried to block telemarketers and spam calls in every way possible on our cell phones and we still get them a lot. Usually in waves. We also have a landline (that I intend to keep) and have actually never had a telemarketer on that number as long as we've lived here, surprisingly!
