How do you cope with a snoring partner when there's no other room to escape to?

It is a medical problem that can't really be corrected over an internet forum. Especially an internet forum devoted to Disney :)

He needs to get to a doctor. Even if he doesn't have sleep apnea where he is completely stopping breathing he may be getting low oxygen levels due to a restricted airway.

I went and had a sleep study and it turned out that over a 7 hour period I wasn't able to breath for 2.5 hours of it. I would have thought that would kill somebody. :scared1: I would stop breathing over a hundred times an hour. My wife had no idea it was anywhere near that bad.

I sleep every night in the room with one snoring man and three snoring dogs. I rely on my iPhone and the White Noise app (set to crickets)!

Perhaps a product like Tylenol PM will help you sleep more soundly? I know it works for me...but experiment with it before leaving home. I know if I take them too late relative to when I have to get up I am still a bit groggy.

This is what I do. My husband snores sooo loud after a day walking the parks. I take Excedrin PM before going to bed. I can fall asleep before he starts and sleep through the noise. I've never had an issue feeling groggy in the morning from these though.

I don't like earplugs, but they are a solution. I think the better solution is white noise, which can mask out a lot of sounds. Leave the A/C on, or turn on a radio to get a static noise.

As for waking up your DH~just pinch his nose while his mouth is closed! LOL

When DW was pregnant she snored like a bear. I found a pillow over the head (mine, not hers ;)) worked well.

I am the offending snorer in my relationship. I have found that for me the breathe right strips work well. Also, beathe bright makes a spray that works really well also. I think it's called snore stop. You spray your throat before you go to sleep and it lubricates the tissue to minimize the vibration and reduce thesnoring. My wife says she can tell a difference.

I was also told to have a sleep study by my Dr. and my issue is allergy/sinus issue related from having my nose broken a few times.Apparently though, snoring can be a symptom of something more serious so it never hurts to have it checked out.

Ok, I am going to sound a little "out there" but have you ever heard of CranioSacral therapy? It's a technique that is Osteopathic in basis. You can google John Upledger or the Upledger Institute to find a list of therapists certified in this modality.

I was incredibly skeptical about this when I first heard about it but my husband saw a CranioSacral massage therapist and he did miracles for us and his snoring. It is supposed to realign the head, neck and spine and when it's all in allignment the cerebrospinal fluid flows unrestricted and the body's functions improve. Ater two 90 minute sessions the results were amazing. His sinus passages cleared and he could breath so much better and as a result the snoring lessened. We did three sessions to get started and now he goes back every 4 months or so for maintenance

but I still pack ear plugs:)
