How do you cook corn on the cob?

Two ways:

BBQ it: Rap in tin foil throw on the barbie for 20-30 then smuther in a mixture of butter and parmasan or just butter and salt

or

Boil it...

Boil a large pot of water.

I had in two tablespoons of sugar, a pinch of salt and a bit of lemon juice.

Its wonderful.

Put in the corn for about 6 minutes.

Leave it in the shuck and grill it.. Yum...

1. If we're going to boil the corn, we mix milk and butter in with the boiling water....YUM

2. After husking the corn on the cob, smother it in butter and wrap it in foil. Put it on the grille cook - be careful not to overcook.

Boil it but do not over boil it. Corn on the cob is crispy not mushy! A minute is all it really needs...no more then 3 minutes.

If you nare boiling it you can smell when it's done. Can't describe it, but you'll know what I mean when you smell it. I usually let mine boil for about three minutes because of DS's dental prosthetics, he needs a "bit" of mush.

If I boil it, I add sugar and butter to the water.

If I grill it, I put a bunch of butter (think Paula Dean :rotfl2: ) on it, roll each ear in foil, then place it on the grill.

Boil it only long enough for it to be hot. Corn should be crispy and barely cooked IMO.

I tried something new last week. I steamed it. It was the best corn on the cob I've ever cooked. I have gotten to the point that I now steam vegetables I used to boil. Try steaming your potatoes instead of boiling them for mashed potatoes or potato salad. It doesn't take as long and the food tastes so much better. I don't know why, but it does. Also, add some sour cream to your butter and then brush it on the corn on the cob. Yum!

Bring a pot of water to a rapid boil. Drop in the corn. Once it is boiling again, time 7 minutes and DONE.

I then take it out and put it in a pan full of melted butter and just scoop the butter over each ear!

READY!!!!

We microwave it. I put 2 ears in a square pyrex dish, add a splash of water from the facet, and add dash of salt. Cover with plastic wrap. Microwave on high for 6 minutes (or 3 minutes per ear).

The crock pot works well for a crowd. Butter each ear and sprinkle with salt, sugar, and black pepper. Wrap them in foil and cook on high for 2 hours or low for about 4-5 hours. It's great when you're having company and have a lot of things to do at once!

What? Nobody said it? Very carefully!

I think you should try each of these methods and see which you like best.............got a few dozen ears?

We like it in the husk on the barbie.....................

My family loves the way I do it. I wrap it in foil smothered in butter, salt and garlic powder (or minced garlic). Grill it for about 20 mins :)
