I have a new stainless fridge and microwave. With 4 little ones (and one big DH) they are FULL of finger prints. The literature that came with the appliances says to wash with mild soap and water. OK, done that, many times..and though it helps, it in no way gets all the greasy little finger prints off. In one area I can see an entire hand and match it to a particular child. My MIL gave me some Pledge wipes for stailess that are supposed to get rid of the prints....they work sort of, but are a bit streaky, and still not perfection. Every house I go into , their applicances are shining perfectly, I always ask what they use . Some say their appliance came with a special cleaner, but when I ask what it is, I never get an answer, or some say they just wipe it down.....Is it some big secret?

Please tell me how to get these things shining and print free!

Try Sears. They sell steel appliance cleaner in their appliance department. I received a small sample bottle when I bought our dishwasher and stove. It seems to be a good product.

hello,

I use Zep cleaner for Stainless steel. I usually save old socks or t-shirts (soft items) and apply with them. You can purchase Zep at Home Depot, and most likely Loews. It is located near the cleaning aids. It works great. I've had my stainless appliances for several years, and they look new. Zep also sells foaming glass cleaner that works well on windows and glass too. Hope this helps.

great , thanks, I'll try these things.........

I have the Zepp glass cleaner, and that is great on shower doors....I'll give it a try.

The stuff that came with my stainless steel appliances is called Stainless Steel Magic. You wipe it on(sparingly) with the grain, then buff it off after 5 minutes. I'm surprised you didn't get any samples with your appliances. You can buy this at most hardware stores and Wal-mart.

Currently, I am using Weiman Stainless Steel cleaner & polish. You spray it on and buff it off. I got it at Wal-mart.

I use regular pledge (not the ss wipes). Spray on & wipe clean w/a cloth. I do this about once a week. If I see fingerprints I know it's been awhile since I cleaned them!

I use Weiman Stainless steel cleaner & Polish. Its in a silver can and you can get it at Publix, Target and Walmart. It works great :thumbsup2

For some reason, our fridge cleans really well with the Zep (Home Depot)... but our stove, dishwasher, and microwave prefer the 3M SS Cleaner (Costco Canada).

Enjoy cleaning your SS appliances... I know, so much fun, fun, fun ;)

Sheila Shine cleaner. Best stuff ever. It was recommended to me by people in the restaurant industry that have lots of stainless to clean. We get it at Ace Hardware.

Surprisingly--ENDUST! For me, it works better than any stainless steel wipes or cleaner that I've tried. Good luck!

I use stainless steel magic in the trigger spray type bottle and 2 miracle cloths from Solutions. I use one cloth to wipe down the appliance and the
2nd cloth to buff it dry. I have 5 kids and babysit for a few little ones. This system works great for us.

Thank you everyone!!!! I'm going today to buy a couple of these and see what works best for us. I can't believe that I have gone this long and didn't know there was stainless cleaner on the Target shelves.:confused3 Duh.
I also don't know why I didn't get any samples with my appliances. The woman at the store said they use a spray on Dawn cleaner? I have looked and looked and never found it....so I continued to think it was some mystery. A neighbor told me to use baking soda and water like a paste then buff off. I tried it on my dishwasher and it worked a little, but I felt it was too harsh.

Now I'm armed with the proper information! I can always count on the DIS.
