How do you clean your floors?

I'm all new to this. Our old house was w/w carpeting, but this new one is a mixture of travertine tiles & laminant wood floors.

Daily:

I use an old fashion broom & dust pan
I use a dry swiffer where the cat hangs out...he sheds like crazy here in FL
I use a swiffer wet mop as needed in the bathroom or kitchen

Weekly:

Broom & dust pan
Swiffer
Shark Steam Mop (the $99 one)
Swiffer

My weekly floor cleaning takes at least 1 1/2 hrs

I wash by hand, wearing knee pads scooting backwards across the floor. then I wait for it to dry then on the wood floors I spray orange oil down and rub it with a cloth diaper. the floors stay nice and clean and smells wonderful. they sweep up nicely when I sweep daily. I do this weekly.

I have tile and vinyl plank flooring.

I use a canister vacuum to get all the debris and pet hair up.

For times I just want to mop the kitchen or a small area, I use a Swiffer with the wet pads. I bought a pack of the wet pads and just re-use them. I just wash them by hand with a bit of dish soap - no need to create all that waste and keep spending money on new pads! I re-wet them with an all purpose cleaner - I like the Lemon Simple Green.

When I want to mop the whole house, I use a sponge style mop and a bucket with Ecover Floor Soap.

I have a Shark Vac n Steam and LOVE it! The vacuum works SO much better on my tile floors than any thing I have ever used! We have a cat and it gets the hair and kitty litter up so great. Highly recommend it and the cord is longer than the one on my carpet vacuum.

The shark steam pocket mop is on sale online for $71.54 at Walmart. In stores its 99.99...Its free site to store shipping and $0.97 cents to ship to your home. Best price I could find.:goodvibes

Also, the shark deluxe steam mop is $99.99 at my local bed bath and beyond. You can use the 20% off coupon and get it for $80 which is a great price. It has 3 different mop heads and 2 of each pad. It's a great deal.

I use a canister vacuum then vinegar water an rag. Spot clean as I see spots on floor an about every 3 months get down on floor an actually wash it with rag an vinegar water.

No kids or pets here just DH an I an we pretty clean an very good about cleaning up little messes.

I have laminate and vinyl flooring. I used to use the swiffer wetjet but the cleaners and pads were getting too expensive. Rubbermaid has a mop with reusuable microfiber pads and a refillable bottle. You can fill it up with super hot water and a very small amount of pinesol and it does the job well. No complaints so far.

Oh and I use the swiffer vac before I mop so that it gets the dust up with the swiffer cloths (I buy the generic kind) and the vacuum picks up crumbs etc...

I have laminate wood floors too. I use a broom 1st and then use the Orange Glow floor cleaning kit. I only use the stick mop with the terrycloth mop head. I fill my sink with hot water and some cleaner and ring out the mop head by hand. My floors always look great!............ Yes it seem like more work buy I don't mind it!

I have tried the steam mops. They leave streaks on my wood floors. I love them for the tile in my bathrooms, though. A few years ago we put wood floors in upstairs and the man who installed them told me that the ONLY safe thing to use on the floors was vinegar and water. I wanted him to refinish the floors in my kitchen and he said that if I had ever used another cleaner (guilty! I used Murphy's oil soap) that he would have to completely sand them down first to get rid of the residue that the cleaners leave.
