We just came home on Friday from our best family vacation ever, and i'm completely depressed. I'm already mentally trying to plan our next trip for something to look forward to. We did everything we wanted, loved the resorts and rides, etc. Anyone else get in a mood like this? I actually painted my bathroom yesterday just so I wasn't moping around thinking about vacation.

I hang out at the Dis! And I plan my next vacation. I think that's all that keeps me sane!

I always book my next trip within days of returning from my last one...it helps to know that another trip is in the works.

Other than that, I mope around and look at my Disney pictures every so often. :)

I listen to lots of Disney music, check out pictures of trips past, hang out on the Dis, and mark my calendar for when I can start making PSs for the next trip.
I'm still trying to get over the "vacations over" blues and I came back over three months ago!

I plan the next trip. I am already dreading coming home from vacation, and I don't go till September. I have been so blessed to be able to go three times in one year. When I get back this September, I know I won't be going back until May 2005. That's so long for me. I know I will be depressed. I am giving my DVC points to my daughter who will be getting married some time in 2004. So, I guess I will get to plan a wedding during that time, but it will still be hard. I plan on doing a lot of planning for my daughter. I also watch my vacation videos and pictures, and work on my scrapbook, a lot!

I get the blues too. I start getting it even before I leave...the day before we are leaving. I bought into DVC & have a trip booked for October as well, so I think that might help.

Just hang out here on the DIS and book another trip if you can....even if it's for two years from now. If you can't commit to booking another trip, start saving your change, etc. like you're going. That way, when you do go, you'll already have that much saved...it might just pay for your resort or flight!

definitely plan the next trip... no matter how far away it is!!!

LOL! I save my change too just for Disney vacations!

Whatever works!;)

I haven't had long to plan this coming trip, but I've been saving change since March to cover my DGD8's "pen addiction" and I've got nearly $100!

Here's what we have done. Our trip isn't until October, however, my husband is a disney fanatic..ok so am I LOL!!! We have already planned our two trips after that..one for Dec 2004 and the other for September 2005. This time we are going to keep park maps and stay in touch with the dis and really talk about what worked and what didn't work.

We also plan to have a baby in between Jan and Nov. 2004 (I was going to get pregnant this Aug, but if we are going to Disney I want to be able to do the rides!) So we have enough to keep us busy for a while and alot to plan for..but that is how we cope. Planning trips and babies:p

I'm suffering from the "cancelled trip" blues, but no dif there. I can't think of anything better to do than PLAN YOUR NEXT TRIP.

But in dealing with our cancelled trip due to medical concerns, we're figured out some neat things to do, mostly involving food and video. We've now had two "Disney Nights." One was a "Hoop Dee Doo" party, and consisted of a similar menu to the HDD plus western-themed video. The second, last night, we used Disney online cookbooks to make Canadian Cheese Soup, plus we had some fine steaks. The whole time I cooked, we listened to the TOD CD. Finally, while we ate, we watched the John Candy movie "Canadian Bacon." Not a very good movie, but it served its purpose.

None of these things replace Disney, but you can get a pretty good fake going if you try!

That's funny. I was just thinking about how nice it would be to be back at WDW. We used to stay off site, but since 1980 we stayed in the park. You'd think someone would get tired of WDW but it's actually gotten to be more fun.

1. It's more fun without children.
2. Allow enough time to see what you want without a mad rush.
3. Take time to see the little things you didn't have time to see before like the tours.
4. Avoid TV and newspapers.
5. Stay in the park. Our favourite is the Wilderness Lodge or the Grand Floridian.
6. Use the FastPass system religiously. It almost eliminates lines.
You can usually get a Fastpass and there's more than enough time to see another non-fastpass attraction before you need to show up. Wait until after the hour to show up. In other words, your Fast Pass is good for an hour. Wait until 1/4 after or so.

Blues cure: Plan Another Trip ASAP. Videotape lots of things at the parks and meanwhile, put together a nice DVD of your journey. Arrange your photos. Do a scrap book.

Disneyitis is a serious condition and you should immediately seek professional help at your local travel agent!!!!!!!!

I know just the feeling you're talking about! I'm already thinking about how sad I'll be when we get back from this trip, and we haven't even left yet!!

The only thing that helps is what everyone else has suggested: planning the next trip. It doesn't matter if I don't know exactly when that may be, as long as I'm planning a trip, it helps.

Thanks everyone. I do want to go again, and hopefully soon. Luckilly my DH and I work FT jobs and can afford vacations, so it'll probably be pretty easy to convince my DH to go again. Maybe we'll try again early next spring. I must admit, I read Frommers and the Unofficial guide all the time and can't wait for the 2004 books.

Besides planning another trip, I find watching old Disney movies - especially those made under Walt's careful eye - really help ease the pain. A personal favorite for perking me up is "Pollyanna". :D

Movies are a great idea. I've been watching the Sing along video's with my 2 yo son, and it's fun to see that he's remembering the trip just by seeing some of the rides he went on during the video.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to start to plan another trip!

I too had the blues BAD when we got home from WDW in March. We had waited so long and I had planned forever that when we got back I felt like something was missing:( It only got worse when I got my 6 packs of pics back and realized that there was so much that we didn't get a picture of!! I was so upset...thank god you all know how I feel!!!
Anyway I didn't think we'd be able to go back anytime soon but as you can see from my counter we are going back! DH saw what a funk I was in and suggested I look for some deals. Well within the HOUR I had the best one ever!!! DD CBM for $20.03!! WOO HOOOO!
Yesterday I got a thing from DCL and I got to thinkn' ....mmmmm gonna have them there blues again...maybe I should start to plan a FIRST EVER CRUISE!!!!

I thought I was the only one who thought this way!
That's why you have make everyday count while your there
at WDW...So that you can capture the memories! First couple
of times we went, we were on such a mad dash that we were
exhausted(I would say we were ready to come home, but that
would be a lie!) This time I'm planning on cherishing it and realizing that this definitely will NOT be the last trip! I think
that's what wigged me out in the past!!
Also, I planted my garden so that when I come back, I can
be excited to see what's happen there!(I guess you have to
like to garden!)
Also, just think how lucky you are to get to go!!! Most
of my friends have NEVER been!
If i had it my way, I would be on PERMANENT Vacation!
But my DH says I'm kind of crazy that way!!

Going to see the mouse MONDAY!!
