How do you backup your pictures?

This sounds like a great idea! What brand did you get? How much $$ did it cost? (if you don't mind)

I actually got this used on ebay...for 31 plus shipping, they sold new for around 400

JOBO IMAGEMAESTRO PRO PORTABLE BURNER DVD MP3 USB 2.0

I tested it as soon as I got it, becasue I had my doubts at such a good price..the cool thing is it's actually a removeable laptop drive, so I can replace the drive if it dies...

I've seen similar items on ebay just search for portable dvd burner.. although at 400$ you could get a laptop, which is what I did on black friday, for my photography stuff, but the jobo was too tempting at that price so I also bought it..:thumbsup2

I recently bought a portable dvd burner that burns straight FROM A CF CARD..

I recently purchased a portable external hard drive that copies files directly from media cards, it also acts like a card reader when connected to a PC.

i'll call this an "add on" rather than hijack;)

can i back up plugins just by putting them on a cd/dvd? i'm wondering since i would rather not have to go reload them all again from various sites when i change computers...a disk would be lots easier..i could also move them to my external drive where most of the stuff going on my new comp. is right now but would i have to move the entire pse or could i just move the plugin and effects folders?( where the stuff i want to keep is located)
Thanks

I have 2 of those also...

it surprised me when you bought yours, I could have sworn that you were one of the regulars that spoke out against them in other threads when I would recommend them..:confused3

Well the price was right, and I find that I am not very consistent when it comes to backing up to other more reliable medias. In fact in several threads I argued that multiple hard drives while not perfect might be better for those like me that tend to put off those other back up methods.

Well... at the very least, you'd need to manually copy them back, and a few may refuse to work. That being said, I believe most plug-ins are pretty self-contained - I regularly use some PS plug-ins from Irfanview, just by doing a one-time setup (pointing Irfanview to the .8bf file.)
