How do they know there's a 3rd adult in room?

I've always added the extra adult at check in and never before that. I've never been charged for the extra adult doing it that way. I'm always prepared to pay for them though.

Then that is what I will do if they can join us. It would be in the middle of our stay, I imagine, and not for the rest of the stay, so I will just go to the check in (does anyone know if I would use the same desk as we will be using forconcierge check in?)

Our family of 4 was recently out of town. The hotel we stayed at didn't charge extra for over 4 people, it's just when I had to use the drop down menu for how many guests would be staying I must not have dropped it down far enough!

The end result was that they only left enough towels for 2 people to take a shower. Actually, there were enough for 3 people, but that wasn't enough for all of us!

I had to call down for extra!

So, just a thought, you might not get enough towels for everyone.

There are usually only 3 of us that travel to WDW. I have never had less then 4 sets of towels in the room. Never. Also being women we tend to shower a couple times a day. Whenever we needed extra towels we just called mousekeeping and was brought an armload of towels. They really don't care how many towels you use or need. Now we did have the misfortune of staying at a Ramada one year driving back from WDW. I had booked online and must not have said two adults and one child. Wasn't a biggie as kids were free anyway. So we get in the room and there were only two sets of towels. I called the front desk only to be told that since there were only two people, that was all we get! I told them that they saw my DD when we checked in and I didn't think we had left her off the reservation. Well they gave me such a hard time in geting another set of towels! I had to ask to speak to the manager to get another set! Needless to say I wrote to Ramada and they refunded my money and gave me a certificate to stay again. I tossed the certificate as they couldn't pay me to stay in another Ramada! Thankfully Disney has more class!

Now as far as EMH goes... I guess with the spare key and the "lost" key... they look the same... the date is the same... the CMs at the parks wouldn't know if it's a "good" key or a "bad" key. So I guess that solves the problem.

For EMH now, the CM's actually scan your room key into a hand-held machine, so presumably the "lost, deactivated" key would not get you a wristband. I think they implemented this because there were rumours that non-resort guests were "borrowing" people's room keys to get the wristbands. :confused3 With the new system, one key can only get you one wristband. It was this way at MGM a few weeks ago.

It's a shame they have to spend so much time and money (which is passed on to each of us) trying to stay ahead of the scammer's. Which is the reason each Resort ID now has a name on it.

I think this only happens on the EMH evening. I don't recall them scanning the key for the EMH morning, but you have to show (basically wave the card, but the CMs don't look closely) the card when you pass by them.

They weren't even looking for resort cards on the EMH we went to. They were letting anyone in. I asked if they wanted to see my resort card as I was using my AP and the CM said, No I trust you. I couldn't believe it. As I stood waiting for my mom to pass through I watched an entire family, who was bragging on the monorail about illegally parking at the Poly when they are offsite, breeze right on through the gate too. I decided then and there I would never waste my time getting up that early only to spend my morning with thousands of offsite folks!
