not sure if they do any "corralling", but we were there last friday and it was a ZOO!
we got there a bit after 5:30 and they had us entering in through a roped area (so that there was a space for people to walk IN while the rest of the pasrk is walking out). i had forgotten that Wishes was at 6, and it was VERY crowded on main street. looking back, i think we should have pushed our way up main street prior to the fireworks because it was hectic after Wishes (although after the initial 10 min. crush, they did a GREAT job keeping those walking up main street on one side and those walking down main street on the opposite side).
from then on, they had CMs with christmas signs posted throughout the front of the park and asked people who walked by to show their wristbands. i don't recall if our wristbands were noticable under our sleeves, but i didn't have anyone specifically ask to see my wristband, fwiw....
i'm going to try and post a bit later tonight on our experience, but i have to tell you,i was very disappointed with our
MVMCP night. it felt CRAZY crowded (that night we had CMs telling us there were between 20-25000 people in the sold-out crowd, but the next day we had a CM tell us there were 30-35000 people), and i really had a hard time getting into the christmas spirit with it being so busy.
i think WDW does such a beautiful job with christmas decorations and theming throughout the parks in general, that i didn't feel like there was a whole lot added to that for MVMCP. i really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful holiday moments that we discovered for ourselves throughout the week much more than the party night (and it was EXPENSIVE for the 7 of us to go!). ..
i hope you and your family have a GREAT time!
