going to disney florida for my honeymoon and was wondering how the virgin free transfairs work. Is it the disney magical express? do our bags come with us? some advice on this would be great. thanks

I don't think the Virgin transfer is the same as the Magic express.

If you are staying at a disney resort you can call and add it free to your disney reservation.

We used it last year and it was a lovely start to disney part of our holiday.

We have used DME and the virgin free transfers and there are different to each other but both are run by Mears. Also I think DME only serves WDW resorts.

Only stayed on site so not sure what the arranegments are for a non WDW resort but when using free transfers for on site it was a Mears couch which drops off at several resorts. you have to take your luggage with you on the coach. (with DME Disney will pick up and take luggage for you or you can take it yourself)

Magic express is just for disney resorts - i'm sure someone will be along in a minute with the info on virgin transfers.

WELCOME to DIS!

Did this May 09 - once you have collected your luggage (the 2nd time, after the monorail) the Virgin Holidays desk is nearby and they direct you to the transport. Ours was right outside the door, a minivan, about 20 yds from the desk.

We only shared with one more family, so it was a quick transfer. Transfer was done by Mears.

thankyou very much for that!

also, hi! glad to be here! now my planning is really stepping up!

never thought about the transfers we went with kuoni last time and it was a taxi
how does the magical express work we're using this for the first time?

Hi
Has anyone booked with Virgin, but then called WDW and managed to get Magical express added to their reservation.
I have my Disney reservation number, the lovely man who booked all my ADR gave it to me -without me asking but last night I called as we decided we would like the ME transfers instead of Mears with Virgin and they said they couldnt do it as we had booked with a 3rd party and also couldnt get my reservation numberfrom the computer.
Cheers Guys

If you want to book DME you have to contact Disney (Florida site not UK) and ask for your Disney reservation number and then book DME. We have done it and no problem.

however depends on where at WDW you are staying. We have never shared a Virgin tf with more than one other family. When staying atCSR the DME usually also stops at Pop century and AKL so it depends if you are first drop or third. Plus waiting to source your luggage if the DME is busy.

In addition the Virgin tf with mears tends to set off almost immediately. Last year our DME took about 25 minutes to fill up and leave.
