If you stay at a Loew's hotel, you get an express pass. Does it work for every ride?? Does everyone have to show their room key, or just one person in the party? Do you still have to wait if you use an express pass?

It works for all rides except Forbidden Journey, Pteranadon Flyers and Rip Ride Rockit. Everyone must show their room key. This puts you in the express pass line. Depending on crowds it can be a very short line or a longer line.

Onsite guests receive unlimited Express access throughout your stay. The room key is the Express pass and each person must show it. It works for all attractions except: Rockit at the Studios and Forbidden Journey and P Flyers at IOA. You would enter through the Express line like others with Express passes.

It's a fabulous perk! We enjoyed the privilege immensely when we stayed at the Royal Pacific Resort back in early December. The room keys are scanned at the entrance of the rides/shows, so everyone in the party must have a room key to qualify for FOTL. We felt like royalty during our visit!

is it worth paying for? I'm not staying on site but I only have one full day at IOA I know that it doesnt work for the forbidden journey which is fine but as long as I can use it for most everything else waiting in line for forbidden journey shouldnt be a big deal...

I dont understand why there are diffrent price points for it but apparently the day I plan on getting it it is only $26 so for 26 is it worth the price...

and you can only use it once per ride? is that correct? how is it same/diffrent from wdw fastpass?

sorry to hijack the thread...

I'm heading to US/IoA in April...middle of April when it will be ridiculously crowded. I didn't want to pay $350 for a room at Royal Pacific for the three of us, but figured it would be cheaper than getting a room off-site and then buying Express Passes for all of us, for two days. The purchase price for the Express Pass is based on how busy the parks are..the busier they are the more costly the Pass is going to be. When my dd and I bought them last August, the cost was about $30 pp....and we really didn't need them. The parks were just not that busy.
And, you can use the Pass (that you buy) for just one ride on each covered attraction. The Express Pass you get with the onsite hotels allow you to ride as many times as you want.

The price point depends on the anticipated crowd level for that day. The higher the crowd...the higher the price for the EP. The EP you buy is only good for once through the line. It's different from Disney's FastPass in that you can use the EP anytime you want instead of having a return time...even though it's not enforced. But it's basically the same thing.

We will be staying at one of the on site hotels and will have FOTL privileges. My questions is: I do not do any of the roller coasters and for one day of our visit my daughter's friend will be with us. Since she is not staying at an on site hotel could I just give her my room key for the roller coasters only?

That should be OK.

So, there's no way you can get an Express Pass with unlimited use unless you stay onsite??

The only other option for unlimited Express is the Park to Park VIP tickets...which include your park admission. The tickets are available for 1,2,3,4 and 7 days and start at $149.99/child and $159.99/adult for the one day park to park tickets.

Here is the pricing information:

You can pruchase an unlimted express pass without staying on site at Universal. There are two types of express passes available everyday for Universal Oralndo guests. They are the one time through the express line per attraction or the unlimited times through the express line per attraction. Both express passes can not be used for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Pteranodon Flyers in the Island of Adventure and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit in Universal Studios.

On the day you visit ask at any store that sells the Express Pass for the prices.
