How do people have left over CS credits?

I keep reading about people having CS credits left over when they are ready to leave and was wondering how this is possible. Do people just not use their CS one day or is it possible to share to that extent? We have DD6 who will be ordering off the kids menu and DS10 who will order off the adult menu but probably not eat too much. Would we be able to share with one of them and save a CS or two? (For what reason I don't know, I'm just wondering)

Well I know I had an extra CS credit left because insteadof using a CS for dinner one night as planned I decided to pay out of pocket for Citricos.

We planned around TS dinners and most were early in the evening. We drank so much water during the day (it was HOT in July!) and snacked a lot so we found ourselves not eating many CS lunches. If you aren't hungry, you aren't hungry! We used CS every morning for breakfast and some days all of us at lunch, but most days, DH and I shared a CS lunch and DD and DS shared a lunch. We just were not very hungry during the day. There were 4 of us and we had 2 CS left each plus one extra (don't know why) but the last day, we ate breakfast (all 4) and then ordered lunch for the ride home. Since you have already paid for the meals, it doesn't matter how you choose to use them as long as you try not to use kids credits for adults. Disney doesn't keep track of kids vs. adult credits, they leave that up to the traveler to do it right. The DDP keeps you full and happy and I think the best way to fully maximize it is to eat breakfast early and dinner later, that way, you don't ever feel like skipping lunch!

I got sick of eating, and just picked off of DH and DDs' plates. Hence....a couple of extra. We ended up using them all, though, since we had lunch on our first day and breakfast on our last (and bought sandwiches for the trip home, too!) :)

We planned one day without any TS meals and instead planned 2 CS meals for that day. The way the day worked out, we didn't eat 2 CS meals and instead ended up snacking because it was hot and we had snack credits to use up. So at the end, we did have some CS meals leftover.

Since you get credits based on how many nights you stay, if you arrive late on the first day it's easy not to use any credits and therefore have some left. We had 4 snacks and 3 CS left on our last day - ran around DDT trying to use them!

We did not have any TS or CS left when we left but did have 33 snacks left between 7 of us. We raided the store at at CSR for snacks for the road and had a ton of them left over when we came home. We didn't share any meals but did use a couple of TS credits for Spirit of Aloha and some CS's for breakfast at Pepper Market. I really don't see how you could have CS's left over because you can use them for breakfast and/or lunch.

We had 2 CS credits on our last day because:

We checked into our resort at 1:45am.

One day my son had soda and cookies for lunch.(We're on vacation, keep the flames to yourself. :lmao: )

Instead of using a CS for breakfast at the Electric Umbrella, I payed OOP.

Before leaving for the airport we used two credits for lunch in the foodcourt. The CS and snack credits were used to purchase a sandwich, chips, cakes, and drinks for the flight home.

This is my plan for at least one lunch in September. ::yes::
Well, maybe not the plan, but I know that it will happen.

I have two ice cream lunches planned for our next trip.

We having the volcano at Rainforest Cafe and the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream. :yay: :dance3: :yay:

First, you are always FULL! It's hard to keep eating. Snack credits are the hardest for us to use. We just returned last Monday after using the ddp for the third time. We have gotten better about pacing ourselves now. I find myself looking at my husband and saying "you will get yourself an icecream and you'll like IT". Of course, we were only there 4 nights, so only had 8 of each credit to use, and you would know, they forgot to charge me 2 CS credits and would not take them back, so we HAD to use them, and got breakfast with them one morning at the pepper market. The DDP is a great deal, but pacing yourself is the key. We met friends one day for lunch and paid OOP, so thought we would be ok with the CS credits, until we ended up with a couple of extra. We did start using the snack credits for breakfast pastries too.

When we went last sept and this past feb we shared CS meals alot. We had 5 adults and 1 child. I always ordered the childs portion and 3 adult portion. 5 adults and the child ate from this, so we had breakfast a few days from the shared meals. We shared the cs meals at breakfast did 3 adult and used snack credits for fruit and benigets, so we had plenty on these days. It made us not so full to eat light breakfast and smaller lunches. Then we all ate our TS. :sunny:

I just left 4CS credits and 8 snack credits behind. In our case, we were at DVC and ate breakfast in the room (no decent breakfast CS at BCV, if you're a kid that likes pancakes and bacon, lol), then had mostly early dinners/late lunches for our TS credits. We also spent a day at Universal. So, yeah, it's possible.

We had two counter service meals and like eight snacks left over last year. There are restaurants that we dearly love to eat at that are part of family tradition and they are not on the Disney Dining Plan. As for the snacks, we hoarded them for a couple of days thinking we would have a greater need at the end of the week, but that did not materialize.

We ended up having about 13 CS left b/c we paid for some table service meals. We just don't like to eat counter service. The only places with good CS food tend to be in Epcot and AK.

Can you use your credits on your check out day?

Well although we're staying onsite the whole time we are venturing offsite some days so I don't know if we'll use every single CS credit cos according to my rough itinerary some days we have 2 TS meals so we'll probably only need a snack for the third meal. I'll be trying my hardest to use all the credits though!

We had 10-12 counter service meals left when we departed after a week's stay. Why? Well, we like TS better, so some days we had TS for lunch and dinner and just paid OOP for lunch. We probably would have used them up for breakfast but the Pepper Market was not good for breakfast. So, we ate breakfast in our room, instead.

We also had tons of snack credits left -- probably 20 or so. We tend not to snack between meals. We used some to buy breakfast for the plane the next day. We didn't use them to stock up on rice krispie treats because we don't like rice krispie treats.

We made sure we used every TS credit, though.

I think if you're able to be there during the free dining plan promotion, you're more likely to have credits left. But if you are paying for the meal plan, I would assume that you'd make sure you used them up before you left. After all, you paid for them out of your own pocket. But I could be wrong. What do you all think?
