DH & I have never done a Disney Cruise and have never done but one other cruise before and that was 20 years ago! Anyway, I would like some advise from all of you! What is the best way to book a Disney cruise. I'm sure booking directly through Disney would not be the most cost efficient. We are annual pass holders and belong to AAA. I don't know if we would do both a Disney stay and cruise-- or just a cruise. What is the best way to book a cruise in your opinion. Any and all advise is welcomed!

punch in dreamsunimitedtravel.com get a freee estimate they are real good and they get you the lowest price

We've booked 3 different ways:

direct from DCL, through DVC using points, through Dreams Unlimited.

I can honestly say that using Dreams has been fantastic. They will meet DCL's pricing and you get a rebate on top of that. Best of all if Disney changes pricing downwards (not often but it does happen) they will adjust your pricing for you. When I booked direct from Disney I had to call when they changed pricing and spend time and money to get to save the $$$. When I booked through Dreams and the price went down before I had even ready here on the boards that pricing had changed I had an e-mail from my agent saying they had adjusted my pricing. Now that's service. They send you paryment direct to Disney and you get your documents direct from Disney. They also sponsor this forum. For more details click the ad at the top of the page.

I think that most people comparison shop first. dreamsunlimited, www.allseastravel.com disneycruise.com, AAA, and if you belong to a wholesale club like samsclub or Costco. I got prices from all of the above and dreamsunlimited and Costco gave me the best prices. I have not heard many complaints about any of these companies on these boards.

I actually went with Costco- their price was slightly cheaper than DU (about $100 cheaper on the 3 day cruise, Cat 4) but I mainly chose them because I like having the option of talking to a live reservation agent. Everything at DU is done via email, which some people prefer. (It is faster communicating that way, Costco tends to have long hold times on the phone.) With Costco you have the choice of calling and talking to someone live or using email. I have been happy with Costco so far.
DU hosts these boards and people here seem really pleased with them too.
Don't apologize- after all I am the one who chose the name cheapmom.

Dreamsunlimited saved my son over $400.00 on a 7 night. I'll be using them in the future.

I always use my travel agent. We were booked really early and about 3 months before our cruise the price went down because a Canadian resident special came out. She called us with the lower rate and everything (except the price) stayed the same. They do so much other stuff like hotels, airfare and car rentals. It's nice because I don't have to do any of it - just pay!

Some travel agents are better than others at "tracking" your cruise and being sure that if the price goes down, you get the cheaper price. Dreams Unlimited and www.cruisetraveloutlet (I think that's the name) are great at this. Also good at getting discount prices up front.

I like using my local agent, but really don't get anything more from her than I do from a "discount" agent....so as a veteran of 10 cruises who really needs no "special" services, I re-book on board, then transfer the ressie to a discount agent.

I used Expedia and I think it was pretty cheap. I booked a gty cat 11 and it was $1,640 for the three of us. (One adult and two children) In addition, when I called to check on whether I was assigned a cabin yet I was told that I am definitely being upgraded, to a cat above 11 but that I don't have an assigned cabin yet.

The downside is that I'm just about the only one that doesn't have their docs yet for this cruise, but I'm still hopeful that I'll get them before we set sail. lol.
