Hey guys,

I am a bigger guy at 330lbs at 5'7" (55" around my belly.. lol) ... I have no problem getting onto any of the Disney rides and fit pretty comfortably ... Are the Universal and IOA rides as easy of a fit for larger folks?

I am losing weight for our trip in Sept (Was 350 just 3 weeks ago) but just incase I find myself lost in a box of doughnuts it would be nice to see past experiences :)

Thanks

The only rides that I can think of that might be a problem are:

-Harry Potter FJ
-Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
-MAYBE MIB (seats are kinda small)

I am about 250 and fit just fine on all rides except Rip Ride Rockit (I could ride, but the "bar" that secures you in was really tight).

Most rides have seats outside to check.

Also, great job on losing weight! Keep it up!

I will def keep my eye out on those rides then. I'm glad to see that most of the rides should not be a problem. This is our 4th year in a row to take the family down to Florida (We are from NB Canada).. It has been a blast each year so far.

And thanks for the encouragement on the weight. I hope to drop another 30 to 50 in the 5 months we have before we leave. < Fingers Crossed >

Have a great day !!

As Badge stated...there are attractions that have test seats outside the main entrance. Make sure you try these out if you are concerned. It's mainly the coasters but there are "big boy" seats on each train. They are located in rows three and six of Hulk and Dragon Challenge. It's the seat with two belt buckles. You shouldn't have any problems but that's why the test seats are there.

You may also have problems on the Mummy, but again there are test seats out front.

Great ... I love the "Test Seat" idea. I'd hate to wait in line and then have to just get off and wak away. Glad that I should not have any problem on most of the rides !!

I was surprised at Disney how I could get onto all the "Kiddy" rides. My Daughter and son loved it that I could share the ride with them. Although I was a little surprised at how strong Dumbo was as he lifted me into the air (LOL)

Can't wait to experience all the movie rides this time .... Really would love to get on the coasters as well as I LOVE COASTERS !!! < Fingers Crossed >

You'll definitely want to try the test seat at Ripsaw Falls. It's a log flume, but has a tight fit. The trick is to SLIDE in (legs straight and slide like you would a slide). Do not sit in the front or the back if you're tall/big/long legged. The middle seats are better.

Cool ... Thanks for the tip. When I get to the front I will try to ask the attendants which seats are bigger

As someone that used to be 315 at 6'2" I did not fit into The Hulk, Dueling Draggons and barely into the Mummy. I doubt I would have fit into Rip Ride Rocket and Harry Potter. Even with the larger seats on the Hulk and DD I did not come close to fitting in the seat. But try them anyway.

DH is 5'10" or so and his true waist measurement (it would be smaller if he wore his pants lower like most men LOL) is around the same as yours, and he wasn't able to ride ANY of the "big" rides. He's also built like a sumo with large muscular legs, and couldn't get his legs into the space between the lap bar for Mummy, so couldn't ride that, either.

The very very kind TM (who got kudos from us and then we got a thank you letter from them for thanking him officially) at Ripsaw helped him get on that ride by telling him to ask for the "ADA log". It's a special log (comes around every 5 minutes) that is meant for those in wheelchair etc, but if there's no one else who *needs* it, they are happy to let bigger folks use it. It enabled DH to go on it with DS, and they had a blast. (DS and I had just gone on it something like 3 times in a row but it was way more fun with his dad)
