How do I remove paint from my floor?

I painted my bureau a coupe of weeks ago and accidentally got paint on my hardwood floor. Can I use turpintine or will that take the finish off it???

if it was latex paint, many times a small amount of alcohol on a rag will remove latex paint without affecting the original finish of the wood.

I took the blue off but the cheap white paint that I used wont come off (I think it might be oil)

There is a product called OOPS that is sold at the Home Depot and I am sure other paint stores will also carry it. This OOPS works wonders! Just squirt a small amount on an old rag and rub the offending paint right off!
